Today we’d like to introduce you to Gulnaz Rehman.

Gulnaz, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
The story of Modest Now began with a little girl who used to love mixing and matching her the outfits of her dolls daily to create her very own trendy outfits. I’ve always had an eye for clothing, fashion trends, matching, etc. As I got older, the love I had for fashion and clothing only grew stronger. As I started wearing hijab, I was always on the lookout for fashionable modest clothing to put together new outfits, yet found myself having to spend countless hours at several stores to piece together the right outfit. My husband knew that my passion and dedication was something that Dallas had a need for. He is a real estate agent, so he started searching for locations for a retail location. Thus, Modest Now was born.

Has it been a smooth road?
Modest Now has been rapidly growing. As a result of that, we have had to try and keep up with the demands of our customers. Fashion is a rapidly changing category. In order to stay relevant, we have to keep up with the competition. We have products made all over the world based on the specialty of fabric, etc. Unfortunately, these oversees suppliers are not always the easiest to deal with. Style, design, and colors quite often get misunderstood. Many times we have received items that we were simply cannot sell. If the quality is not to our standards, we won’t put our name on it.

Modest Now is a business which empowers women so that they can be trendy, yet modestly dressed. We design clothing to meet the needs of the modern Muslima. We help you achieve a chic, modest look from daily wear to any special occasion. We specialize in scarves for Muslim women to cover their hair so they can be confident in their look without compromising their faith. We have a huge variety of scarves/hijabs (Muslim head coverings) in different fabrics, colors and styles so that you can easily find the perfect match to your outfit.

Is our city a good place to do what you do?
We feel Dallas is a great place to have a business. This city is like a melting pot of different cultures and religions so starting a business that caters to a niche market like ours can definitely be successful.
