Hi Jazmin, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I became a licensed hairstylist at the age of 19 and immediately started working full-time in a hair salon. In the early stages of my career, I offered a wide range of services, including sew-ins, relaxers, quick weaves, braids—pretty much everything to establish my business. Starting during the rise of social media marketing gave me a unique advantage, helping me grow my clientele and build my brand. About five years into my journey, I found my niche in silk press and natural hair care. Now, 11 years later, my business continues to thrive as I focus on delivering healthy hair transformations and exceptional client experiences.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
For the most part, the journey has been smooth, although relocating to a different state presented challenges. I want to encourage anyone in a similar position that it is possible to thrive with the help of God.

I am a Silk Press Master, confident in my ability to deliver consistent and exceptional results. As an honest professional, I take pride in maintaining integrity throughout my clients’ hair journeys. I also have an incredible hair care brand, SILKED PRO, which I am excited to relaunch soon. Building authentic relationships with everyone who steps into my salon is a core part of who I am and the service I provide.
Is there a quality that you most attribute to your success?
The most important quality to my success has been Faith and integrity. By always prioritizing honesty, trust, and the health of my clients’ hair, I’ve been able to build lasting relationships and a strong reputation. Coupled with consistency, both in delivering exceptional results and staying committed to my craft, these values have been the foundation of my thriving business.
