Meet Jeris Johnson of DC & Surrounding Areas

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jeris Johnson.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
My journey with creativity started long before it became my career. Ever since I was a child, I’ve always loved the camera, whether I was in front of it or behind it, I was drawn to capturing moments and telling stories. That early love for visuals naturally grew into a deeper passion for storytelling and creating. What began as simply picking up a camera and capturing moments quickly became a calling. I realized that content is more than visuals, it’s a way to help people communicate who they are, what they carry, and the impact they’re called to make. Over the years, I’ve grown from creating content into becoming a creative producer, helping brands, leaders, and visionaries bring their ideas to life through strategy, storytelling, photography, and media production. My work has expanded into serving entrepreneurs, conferences, ministries, and brands that want their message to be felt, not just seen.
At the core of everything I do is my faith. I believe creativity is one of the ways God speaks through us, so my mission has become helping creatives and purpose-driven leaders create from a place of clarity, conviction, and calling.
Today, I’m building a business rooted in storytelling, strategy, and transformation, using media to help people amplify their voice, elevate their vision, and show up fully in what they’ve been called to do.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The road has been smooth overall, but there have definitely been some bumpy days along the way. Through it all, I’ve always known that God called me into this space to create, serve, and ultimately change lives through storytelling and media.
Some of the biggest challenges weren’t always external…they were internal. Navigating relationships, adjusting to shifts, and becoming comfortable growing without constant validation was a major part of my journey. I had to learn that growth often changes your environment, your connections, and even how people respond to you, and I had to become okay with that. It also required me to level up in my thinking: how I operate in business, how I carry vision, and even how I see and speak over myself. When I moved to Washington, D.C. last year, the transition itself was smooth, but internally I was wrestling with the tension between the old version of me and the version of Jeris that needed to fully show up. It felt like being in the boxing ring with who I was and who I was becoming. That process stretched me, but it sharpened me. It taught me that becoming requires surrender, discipline, and the willingness to evolve.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I’m a Creative Producer. My work centers around helping brands, entrepreneurs, ministries, and visionaries bring their ideas to life through photography, videography, and content production. I specialize in creating intentional content that doesn’t just look good, but communicates clearly and moves people. What I’m most known for is my ability to pull the story out of people and translate their vision into something tangible. Whether it’s producing content for a brand, capturing the atmosphere of a live event, or building out a visual campaign, I focus on making sure the message connects and leaves an impact. What I’m most proud of is the growth, not just in business, but in who I’ve become through the process. Building something rooted in purpose, faith, and excellence has been one of my greatest accomplishments. I’m proud that my work has allowed me to serve people in meaningful ways and help them see the value of their own vision. What sets me apart is that I don’t just create content, I create with discernment, strategy, and intention. My faith shapes how I lead, how I create, and how I serve. I care about the heart behind the vision just as much as the final product, and that allows me to create experiences and stories that feel authentic, impactful, and lasting.

How do you define success?
I define success as being in alignment with what God has called me to do and having the courage to fully walk it out. Success, for me, isn’t just measured by money, recognition, or milestones…it’s measured by obedience, impact, and growth. It’s becoming the person I need to be to carry the vision I’ve been entrusted with. It’s having peace in what I’m building, knowing I’m creating from a place of purpose and not pressure. Success also looks like transformation, both in my own life and in the lives of the people I serve. If my work helps someone see their vision clearer, believe in themselves deeper, or move forward with confidence, that’s success to me. At the end of the day, success is stewardship: taking what God has given me…my gifts, my voice, my creativity and using it well.
