Today we’d like to introduce you to Jerrica Justice.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Jerrica. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I’ve had a camera in my hand as long as I can remember! But it really all started when I got my first DSLR camera. My husband was in a band at the time and I loved taking pictures of them. While I was at their shows I would take pictures for other bands too. One night I met a band that loved my pictures, and asked me to photograph one of their shows. They told me they would pay me and I was shocked. You mean I could do what I love and get paid?! I guess you could say that’s where the spark started. Over time I drifted more toward taking photos outdoors with families and children. I loved the music but I’m much happier working with little ones!
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
It was hard in the beginning. Everything I knew came from countless hours of internet tutorials. A lot of it was really just trial and error.
We’d love to hear more about your business.
I do a little bit of everything: Family portraits, newborn photos, weddings, & pets. I would say my main focus is family and children. I specialize in fantasy edited photos. I love adding mood and mystery to a picture!
What were you like growing up?
I loved nature and fairy tales, I can’t really say much has changed since those days!
