Meet Jose of Dallas-Fort Worth

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jose.

Hi Jose, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I grew up in a family of immigrants from Mexico who never saw challenges as a reason to quit. My parents taught me that hard work, resilience, and determination could open doors, no matter where you started. They worked some of the toughest jobs, my dad as a chicken farmer and my mom in a factory, all to create a better life for our family. Watching their sacrifices instilled in me the belief that if you truly set your mind to something, you can accomplish it.

Because of them, I became the first person in my family to graduate from high school, earn a college degree, and build a career in a field I genuinely love. Today, I work in architecture, a creative profession that allows me to design spaces that people call home. But my creativity didn’t stop there.

Outside of my 9 to 5, I discovered a passion for content creation. Like many creators, I experimented with just about everything, politics, skincare, makeup, comedy, and lifestyle content, before realizing what truly fulfilled me: showcasing local businesses, sharing hidden gems, and helping people discover experiences they might have otherwise missed. There’s something incredibly rewarding about knowing a single video can bring customers through the doors of a small business or help someone create a new memory with friends or family.

Looking back, I’m incredibly grateful for how far I’ve come, but I know this is only the beginning. Every milestone I achieve is a reflection of my parents’ sacrifices and the values they instilled in me. My goal isn’t just to continue growing as a creator and professional, but to build something meaningful that allows me to give back, support my family, and create opportunities for the people and communities that helped shape who I am today.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Like most people, my journey definitely hasn’t been without its challenges. Growing up as the child of Mexican immigrants in a predominantly white community, I often felt like an outsider. Language barriers were something I faced from a young age, and there were moments where I questioned whether I truly belonged. I also went through multiple surgeries that affected my confidence for years, making it difficult at times to fully embrace who I was.

Academically, navigating college as a first generation student came with its own set of challenges. There wasn’t a roadmap for my family or me, so I had to figure out many things on my own while attending one of Georgia’s most prestigious universities. It was overwhelming at times, but it also taught me resilience, independence, and the value of asking for help when I needed it.

One of my biggest personal struggles, though, was accepting myself. As someone in the LGBTQ+ community, it took me more than 20 years to truly feel comfortable in my own skin. That journey wasn’t always easy, but once I embraced who I was without fear or apology, everything changed. I became more confident, more creative, and more willing to put myself out into the world.

Looking back, every obstacle has strengthened me. Instead of letting those moments define or limit me, I used them as motivation to keep moving forward. My parents taught me that perseverance can overcome almost anything, and I’ve carried that mindset into every part of my life.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
At my core, I’m a storyteller. Whether I’m designing spaces as an architectural designer or creating videos for social media, my passion has always been capturing experiences, telling meaningful stories, and creating something that leaves a lasting impression.

Today, I specialize in lifestyle content centered around food, local businesses, travel, and unique experiences across Texas.

What sets me apart is the level of intention I put into every piece of content. I’ve never been someone who believes in creating content just for the sake of posting. Every video is thoughtfully planned, filmed, and edited because I genuinely care about the experience my audience has when they watch it. I want every shot, every transition, and every story to feel polished and purposeful. While that approach may take more time, I believe people recognize and appreciate the effort behind quality storytelling.

So, before we go, how can our readers or others connect or collaborate with you? How can they support you?
