Today we’d like to introduce you to Kazz Stewart.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Kazz. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I am originally a transplant from the Washington, D.C. area. I made my way to Dallas about two years ago in pursuit of my professional career in technology. I am an IT consultant by trade and found that much of my time was dedicated to work. The other portion of my time was spent giving back in the Dallas community. After quickly settling into Dallas life, I decided to start feeding my interest in the arts, particularly photography. I was in need of an outlet that allowed me to be creative, so photography is what I experimented with. I was inspired by my grandmothers, growing up they both took lots and lots of photos.
We have memories to last a lifetime because of it. They encouraged me to do the work that I do with Kaptured by Kazz. I want to provide individuals with lasting memories and useable content. That is my “why”. Today, I am breaking ground, Kaptured by Kazz is not nearly what I want it to be. My focus is to continue building my brand and gaining interests from individuals while mastering my craft. I know this will be a journey of forever learning.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
This hasn’t been the easiest journey. It took me a year to determine that this was something I wanted to truly invest in. It wasn’t until earlier this year that I made Kaptured by Kazz an official business.
I believe the thing I struggled with most was fear. Fear that I wouldn’t succeed fear that my work wasn’t good enough, fear of starting a business. Once I was able to remove fear from the equation and take the leap, my vision became clearer. I began to take action on things that would help to propel me.
Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Kaptured by Kazz – what should we know?
Kaptured by Kazz was merely a clever name in 2018 and has now blossomed into a full-blown photography business. I specialize in capturing moments for memories. I currently am the house photographer for The Connect Dallas. I have shot at many of the events the organization hosts. Event photographer is what I do most often today. I enjoy catching people in the moment; the candids are usually the best shots in my opinion. I also do individual shoots and headshots.
More recently, I’ve taken an interest in videography. Although editing is sometimes tedious, I really love the final output. I love being able to mix and match media to create something special. I really care about the vision of my client; this is something that will help me become successful.
Is there a characteristic or quality that you feel is essential to success?
I know that standing on what I believe and not compromising my self and my work will make me successful. I also believe that keeping the client first will ensure success.
