Kim, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
Cadillac Hats started approximately three years ago as a fun hobby /small business that my daughters and I could enjoy together We were sitting around playing with some hats and had the idea to sell unique, decorated hats instead of just having a regular hat bar like most people were doing. We put some finished hats on Etsy, formed a website: Cadillachats.com, did some markets, and were able to open up a space inside of The Painted Tree. From there, we were asked to do some corporate events and some events with the City of Ft Worth, and ultimately asked to attend the National Finals Rodeo in Las Vegas. We also make several hats for the Kentucky Derby.
We continue to make custom, unique, one of a kind hats.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Some of the struggles along the way are consistency of sales. As with most businesses, there are better seasons and slow seasons. Recently a big blow was the sudden closure of all of The Painted Tree stores. We are regrouping from this but working on building a stronger social media presence and on line sales.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
Cadillac Hats specializes in handcrafted, custom cowboy, rancher, and fedora-style hats, along with a unique collection of ready-to-wear trucker hats. Each hat we create is truly one of a kind—no two are exactly alike—designed with distinct details, colors, and styles to suit every personality and occasion. In addition to our ready-to-wear collection, we offer a hat bar experience, allowing customers to fully customize their own hat for a personal, one-of-a-kind look. Whether you’re looking for a statement piece or an everyday classic, Cadillac Hats has something for everyone.

What makes you happy?
What makes me happy is to see a client finding their perfect hat. For several, we have provided their very first hat. The smiles and the sense of pride, they know that they look amazing. I love seeing their transformation.
It also makes me happy being able to spend time with my family while doing what I love.
