So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
Growing up, I was beyond frustrated with what traditional clothing lines offered the tall woman. Either the apparel was too short, ill-fitting or completely unflattering. And that’s what I found on a good day. On a bad day? I was buying men’s clothes! I knew I couldn’t be the only tall woman feeling this way.
In 2007, I set out to create a clothing line that was stylish, contemporary and specifically designed for a longer frame. I did it with no formal fashion training as I sought out to find experienced industry professionals to assist me in developing clothing for tall women. For over two years, I continuously worked to ensure each style embodied the confidence and beauty of a tall, fashion-forward woman who is innovative and timeless.
From fashion, my vision grew. I didn’t just want to clothe tall women, I wanted us to connect and share our stories and unique perspectives. The HEIGHT GODDESS community is a place where we can engage and connect about everything from relationships and careers to fashion and health.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
This question literally made me laugh out loud! Since the inception of HEIGHT GODDESS more than 10 years ago, there have been several struggles along the way. There are over 160 million women in the United States; however, women 5’9” and taller are a small portion of this group. Targeting tall women can be difficult as there is no direct way to market to their needs. This is the reason tall women’s clothing is typically available via catalog and e-commerce. There have been a few companies with brick and mortar stores, but most have closed due to the fact that there are not enough women from 5’9” to 6’5” to make it sustainable.
For this reason, HEIGHT GODDESS is sold directly to customers online via our website www.heightgoddess.com. Online provides a much wider reach for HG to target tall women. Digital marketing is a key component to reaching our audience and it has its own set of challenges. As I mentioned earlier, there is not a direct way to target tall women like you can other demographics, but with the rise of social media, our Facebook and Instagram pages have been fundamental in reaching our tall customers.
Please tell us about HEIGHT GODDESS.
I created HEIGHT GODDESS for women like myself; women who love their height, embrace their uniqueness and encourage confidence in other women. HEIGHT GODDESS is a lifestyle brand for tall women offering contemporary clothing for women measuring over 5’9”. HG is known for its great fitting, stylish maxi dresses and denim for tall women.
Currently, I am proudest when I receive emails and messages from women sharing how something they’ve heard on my podcast, From One Height Goddess To Another, gave them confidence and encouragement to embrace their height. Most often they are just extremely excited about finding clothing that is not only stylish but fits their elongated frame. I am also proud to say that HG garments are made in California and Texas.
As a small company, it is difficult to make big inventory commitments without fully knowing if our target audience will absolutely love the designs we create as much as we do. With that in mind, we created, “Be the Buyer.”
“Be the Buyer” allows the HEIGHT GODDESS community the opportunity to decide which designs we produce. It’s the ideal way to deliver quality and great fitting, stylish clothing designed with height in mind and fits the taller-than-average frame.

Do you look back particularly fondly on any memories from childhood?
I vividly remember my parents taking me to the World’s Fair. The theme that year was about the various ways countries utilize energy. It was great being exposed to a lot of different cultures and delicious ethnic dishes.
