Meet Lauren Lewis

Today we’d like to introduce you to Lauren Lewis.

Lauren, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
It’s funny how I got into modeling because modeling was something I never thought about doing. Growing up, I was always insecure about my height and being so tiny, but everyone around thought I was beautiful. People would tell me you should model, but I was always so shy so I didn’t think I could do it.

One day I just decided to go for it. During the journey, I dealt with a lot of scams, spent thousands of dollars and never got anywhere, so I decided to give it up. My passion to model never left. After being married, having two beautiful girls, then getting divorced; I had a strong desire to find me again. Being a lot older, I wasn’t sure if I could do it but I said you never know until you try; it might be my time. I recently have been doing fashion shows all over DFW, photoshoots with Dallas finest photographers, and I recently signed with 42 model management. My future looks bright and I’m excited of what’s to come.

Has it been a smooth road?
This journey hasn’t been a smooth one but it hasn’t been so rough either. My decision to move from Houston to Dallas to pursue my modeling career has opened so many doors for me. I’ve been blessed to run into the right people to help me along my journey. It’s almost like a straight path was created for me. New opportunities present themselves weekly and I thank God for putting me in this position to receive them.

We’d love to hear more about your work and what you are currently focused on. What else should we know?
I consider myself a fashion model and I love the runway. Editorial and commercial work is also something I’m getting my feet into. As a Carlos Vincent Photography(CVP) Model, I am learning the ends and outs of facial expressions and posing for the photographer to capture a great image. I also get a lot of practice with Burl(Bizzy) Thomas, with Bizzybtee Photography, who allows me to practice in front of the camera to learn what works and what doesn’t to perfect my craft. My model manager Lenny Wheeler with 42 model management is helping me become the best overall model I can be by providing me with all the necessary training and guidance to succeed. I’m so grateful to have these guys in corner so that I can soon say I specialize in runway, editorial, and commercial. I’m most proud of how far I’ve come in such a little time and I’m steady evolving. I believe what sets me apart from others is that I’m not afraid to be me. I have accepted my beauty and my flaws, and I embrace them. I also have a loving fun spirit, so I am fun to work with, and I leave a positive impact on everyone I come in contact with. I am all positive vibes.

How do you think the industry will change over the next decade?
The industry is becoming more diverse and I believe it will have markets for everyone so no one will feel left out. No matter age, race, height, weight, or gender, there will be a market of everyone who wants to be a model. Designers will also be more open to designing clothes for all sizes, as well as make sample sizes larger. With the advancement of technology and such, I believe the fashion trends of the future will also be on another scale, and maybe even revert back to some old trends with a twist.
