Today we’d like to introduce you to Lee Moore.
Lee, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
As avid cigar smokers, we realized there was a void for a comfortable cigar lounge in the Rockwall area. My father Larry and my brother, Mark, decided to take a risk and open a store in the summer of 2006. Quickly hereafter, I joined the company. In 2010, we opened a second location in Murphy, and we opened our third location in Frisco in 2012. We always believed the formula was simple. Offer good product at a fair price and offer excellence in customer service. With hard work, some luck and an excellent customer base, we’ve turned our dreams to reality.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
There is a lot of sacrifice of time and money for several years. When you are running a small business, you frequently battle competition from catalogue and internet companies. Cash flow is probably the biggest stressor we encountered, every single cigar we sell and every single customer you interact with makes a huge difference in the success or failure of the day’s business. You cannot afford make mistakes when you are small and unheard of.
En Fuego Tobacco Shop – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
We are a premium cigar store with spacious lounges. We sell the finest cigars in the industry from the best cigar makes in the world. We offer a comfortable lounge with oversized leather chairs, televisions, and free Wi-Fi. Our store is designed to promote a few moments of tranquility and relaxation. We understand that our customers have numerous choices for premium cigars, so it is our endeavor to provide and unparalleled customer service experience.
What moment in your career do you look back most fondly on?
I am most proud of the fact that we have been able to start, run and become successful as a small business while working alongside my family.
