Meet Lenisa Ann Careaga of Lenisa Love Photography

Today we’d like to introduce you to Lenisa Ann Careaga.

Lenisa, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I am an old soul that uses humor and laughter to see the brighter side of life. My passion is helping people use creative outlets to grow emotionally and physically. I started a business called Lenisa Love where I help with mindful eating, motivation to exercise, blog about mindfulness activities, and create self-love art and photography.

In addition, I get involved with my community to donate my time to help organizations to create powerful memories, images and joyful experiences that impact the lives that their institution touches. My business is about empowering others through my images of what they want to express through their passions.

I am also a model and actress with The Campbell Agency and a model instructor for the Bella Modeling School! I also have created my own perfume called Lenisa Love Perfume that I just started. I am currently Miss Texas Earth Elite USA 2018. I am all about saving the Earth and work as an influencer for the company 4Ocean. Next year, I will be running for Miss Ocean United States 2019 as Miss Ocean North Texas 2019.

Pageantry has shaped my life, and I enjoy the work I do. When I am not working, I am active at the gym, dancing, hiking or creating art. Embracing my creative side has been a big part personal growth as well as self-healing in my life. I am passionate about helping women overcome domestic violence because I am a survivor of domestic violence. One of my greatest accomplishments is surviving my abusive relationship. It took me years to become the strong woman I am today.

I am a spokesmodel for Runway to Freedom which is a non-profit that raises awareness about domestic violence as well as supports families and animals that have been affected by domestic violence. Runway to Freedom gave me the courage to share my story as a healing tool for others. I want to show others that they are capable of anything and that they are here on Earth for a reason.

Has it been a smooth road?
It hasn’t been a smooth road. I had to heal from my past pain from my abusive relationship and the times I couldn’t afford therapy I did everything in my power to recover. I create self-love art as a way to express myself.

I read a lot of books about, and I was very conscious about who I let into my life. I had to relearn self-love because I was taken advantage of a few times. I suffered from depression for about two years, but I decided no medication. I used motivational fitness as a tool for self-healing as well as I ate really healthy foods.

One of the hardest struggles I had was that people told me I couldn’t do the things I am doing now. I didn’t let negative words affected me because my feelings for my dreams were stronger. All the struggles I did have I remain happy and bubbly throughout my life because I was just happy to be alive.

We’d love to hear more about your business.
My company specializes in helping others feel confident in the images I take for them. I want to capture the best memories with my images and bring their image to life. I am very particular about my editing. As an artist, I have an eye for coloring and the style of editing I do. I am really big on recreating the style of the picture someone wants. I am an old fashion soul, so I don’t do any black and white I have different styles of it to show a lot of meaning to the picture. I love having power images that give emotion. I really care about the work I do and pour my heart into it when I am working.

What really sets me apart from others is that I have been in front of the camera modeling since I was nine years old. And because I of that I know how to be in front of and behind the camera. I help make others comfortable and help direct the natural and fashion posing. I love making people laugh when they need to or being more serious in the images I capture. I think being a model in big companies like Jcpenneys my main client has really benefitted me as a photographer.

Is our city a good place to do what you do?
When I moved to Dallas, I was shocked at how nice everyone is here. It definitely has southern hospitality. It’s a great place to start a company, and people are not just welcoming but interested in what you do. I had an Earths Beauty Art Show event for my photography images and perfume line not long ago, and I was surprised by the turn out of how many people came. I hardly knew some of the people, but they were so supportive.
