Lexia, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
Bitz n’ Pieces Boutique was created as a pop-up jewelry and handbag shop in 2006. The business has evolved into a unique design studio and creative space. [Suite 101] is our newest addition to the BNP brand and your one-stop design showroom, event venue, and creative photography space. The perfect venue location for clients and photographers looking for a unique, upscale, urban location to host a creative photo shoot, wedding, reception, party, show or another event.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
LOL – definitely not a smooth road and still is not. Being an entrepreneur is not easy regardless of the type of business, which is why not everyone makes it. It is a constant sacrifice of time, family, and finances. You are the boss, marketer, clean-up crew, investor, and everything in between. It takes a special person with a certain level of conviction to keep going regardless of the challenges that there is no specific road map and everyone’s journey is different and specific. It takes continued dedication and consistency to build any brand and there are usually no days off. However, for those that are truly committed it is worth every bit of the struggle once you get to the point of realizing you your dreams have come to pass. You can see the visible fruits of your labor.
Bitz N Pieces and Suite 101 Studio & Event Venue – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
The goal of our business is and always has been to motivate, inspire and encourage…through unique props, special events, and creative partnerships. We are currently working on developing a non-profit youth mentoring program to assist underserved and underprivileged youth by offering training, guidance, mentoring, and coaching with the intent of economic advancement and provide valuable contributions in their communities. Our partners share in the organization’s commitment to provide relief to underprivileged youth, combating juvenile delinquency through education and mentorship. Our mission is to help young adults find their passion, talent, and creativity and develop those talents into thriving businesses either locally, online, or abroad. We want all young adults with a passion in the following areas to have everything they need to start their own business.

What is “success” or “successful” for you?
To me success is defined by those around you that have been inspired by your journey and have in turn used what they have learned by watching you and began to carve out their own path of success and passing that inspiration on to help the next person do the same. You are only as successful as the ones that come after you.
