Meet Luanne Field of Lake Highlands Jazzercise

Luanne, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
Jazzercise has been a presence in the metroplex for many years! The Lake Highlands studio has been in the current location for 10 years and I have been the owner for 6. I have been teaching Jazzercise for 20 years and I still find it incredibly rewarding. Sharing my passion for dance and an active lifestyle with other women is something I love. We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
I have a Master’s degree in counseling and my professional background has mostly been as a school counselor and mediator. Choosing to give up that working life in exchange for entrepreneurship was not an easy decision! But it’s been super exciting to find new ways to share my skills AND challenge myself to grow and learn.

So, as you know, we’re impressed with Lake Highlands Jazzercise – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
Jazzercise has been around almost 50 years! The fact that we are still around and continuing to grow is a testament to our franchise and it’s ability to evolve with the times. Our classes are challenging and we offer all the latest formats (interval, core, strike, strength training, etc.) but they are also super fun. The mix of music, the class camaraderie, and the awesome choreography keep classes fresh for our customers. At the Lake Highlands studio, I am especially proud of the sense of community we have created. We are definitely a “local” business in every sense of the word.

So, what’s next? Any big plans?
Always planning for the future! At this point, my studio offers 53 classes a week and we have 20 instructors. We have just continued to grow and grow! In December we are looking forward to a facility “face-lift” as we continue to offer improvements to the environment for our customers.
