Fritz, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I am a former Air Force veteran, I spent 6 years active duty military – afterwards I started my journey in the IT corporate sector. I worked for multiple major firms, from Microsoft and many other.
After 7 years in the corporate world; I decided to venture out and start my own IT consulting firm. I began with some partners and friends based on a hand-shake and similar interests; our first client was an Optometrist – from there I realize the niche market for small business that need software, technology, and IT consulting solutions.
I spent years doing small and medium projects and engagement without any official company name or logo or business structure. I learned and was advised throughout that time-frame and progression to my make business ‘side-hustle’ legit – so I setup and LLC, business plan, investors, official logo, website, partnerships and alliances.
The goal is for my firm to become national-wide then eventually global My drive is to help and support small business,’ mom-and-pops’, start-ups, etc. to maximize their dreams and grow to their full potential!
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
It’s very smooth for the most part, along with few struggles and huddles. The biggest challenges are marketing to my target market and growing throughout DFW and Texas.
Self-funding/financing is also a struggle during the initial phase and starting process.
Finding networking / marketing / referral groups that add value to my firm.
Understand local and regional advertising – determining what are the most effective forum and methods.
Deciding rather to add additional partners and/or investor of keeping majority of the ownership.
