Meet Mackenzie Bick of Mac & Co. Planning LLC

Today we’d like to introduce you to Mackenzie Bick.

Hi Mackenzie, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I graduated with a B.S. in Chemical Engineering and went to work in industry right after college. I love problem solving and all things numbers but never really had the opportunity to lean into my creative side. I got engaged in 2024 and absolutely fell in love with planning my own wedding and decided to assist with other planners/coordinators. Once I got to see the behind the scenes of the industry I absolutely fell in love and decided to dive in headfirst and open Mac & Co. Planning! As I started my journey, I realized a lot of my engineering experience overlapped with weddings: managing vendors, project timelines, budgets, etc. so I felt like I was able to jump into the wild world of weddings seamlessly. During my own wedding planning process, I had hired a coordinator who ghosted a lot of my questions. I decided that was not going to be how I conducted business! I want my couples to have easy and consistent communication and a partner in this process that they trust to offer solutions and advocate for them. I absolutely LOVE being able to work with couples and be there for one of the BEST days of their lives!!

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
There have definitely been some challenges along the way but I’m grateful it hasn’t been a smooth journey, or I wouldn’t be able to learn and grow!

Thankfully entrepreneurship has come pretty naturally to me and being an extrovert has really helped me connect with couples! Learning how to set boundaries and manage expectations has been a big lesson. Starting out, I said yes to everything but over time I realized I needed to protect time with my family (I just had a sweet baby in December!) and also, be intentional about the weddings I take on so I’m able to consistently provide a quality experience for my couples!

Social media can be the best place to go for inspiration and seeing how I can better my business BUT it also easily can turn into a place that creates a cycle of self-doubt and insecurity, creating “imposter syndrome”. Comparison is the thief of joy so I try to not compare myself to others and surround myself with a great village to help me stay grounded while also pushing me to be the best business owner and version of myself!

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about Mac & Co. Planning LLC ?
Mac & Co. Planning is a wedding and event planning company. I specialize in month of coordination, coming in about a month and a half before your wedding to take over all the hard work you have done. Creating a curated timeline, confirming vendor details, and ensuring that I protect your vision during execution. It is most everyone’s first time planning a wedding! I want my clients to feel like they have a teammate in me that respects their priorities and budget while also applying my industry knowledge and experiences. I want my couples to have their planning experience be one filled with joy not stress!! I am very intentional about taking on one wedding a weekend so that my couples are getting the best version of myself and my full attention to detail. Brand wise, I am most proud of being an advocate for my couples. I want to create a kind and seamless experience for clients while also ensuring that they know I won’t be afraid to speak up on their behalf should something come up. I want readers to know that you shouldn’t have to feel like you, your family, or wedding party is working your wedding day. I want couples to be able to enjoy the morning with their close friends, truly focus on getting married, and then dance the night away with their guests. I love being able to be a small part of their big day and I want to make sure couples feel they are getting as much passion, enthusiasm and care as if I were planning my own wedding! I offer a variety of services from month of coordination to full planning and happy to create a custom package to fit your needs. I’d love to be considered as your go to gal for your wedding!!

We’d be interested to hear your thoughts on luck and what role, if any, you feel it’s played for you?
There have been moments of good timing: the right inquiry landing at the right time, a referral that turned into a dream client, or a vendor connection that naturally clicked. Those are the moments I don’t take for granted and remind me how blessed I am to get to do this!

But I’ve also had my share of “bad luck”: last minute changes, unexpected challenges on event days, or things simply not going according to plan. In this line of work, that’s inevitable. What matters more than the situation itself is how you respond to it.

In both life and business, I’ve learned that luck might open a door, but preparation, adaptability, and consistency are what keep it open. Especially in wedding coordination, where so many moving parts are out of your control, being able to stay calm, think quickly, and problem solve in real time is far more valuable than hoping everything goes perfectly.

Pricing:

  • Month of Coordination: Begins at $1,600
  • Partial Planning: Begins at $2,200
