Meet Macy Villars of Tyler R. Brown Photography in Frisco

Today we’d like to introduce you to Macy Villars.

10 years ago this year, Tyler Brown and his wife, Stacia, started photographing weddings together as well as high school seniors, families, and boudoir. After a few years, countless weddings and a lot of discussion, Tyler and Stacia decided to narrow their photography business to just the high school senior sector where they could give their clients the very best experience possible.

Three years ago, Tyler and Stacia found out they were pregnant with their first child, Liam! Knowing that Stacia would be unable to assist Tyler on his shoots for much longer, they found Macy Villars, who was just finishing her BFA degree at the University of North Texas. Over the past three years, our team worked hard to make sure that the business not only ran smoothly but that Liam had a fun place to grow up where both of his parents are around to give him all of the love and attention a wild two-year-old needs. Recently, we have hired on a fourth member to our team, Ashley Andrews, to help with the work load that we have been blessed with.

Tyler R. Brown Photography has been serving the Frisco area high school seniors as well for over seven years, and we love what we do!

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
For our team, it’s been smoother than most. We do have technical issues from time to time as we manage and operate all of our own servers, and when Tyler goes out of town for a photo shoot or on vacation, sometimes those servers don’t want to behave for the rest of our team.

We think the hardest part of our job is working through the hot Dallas summers, but that’s when we get the best sunset photos. We take waters, Gatorade, and snacks with us on all of our shoots in a cooler so that everyone stays hydrated and full. Rule number 1 of the studio: no hungry seniors!

Tyler R. Brown Photography specializes in high school senior photography! But more than that, we specialize in the high school senior photography experience.

From the moment you walk into our studio to when you leave, you know that you’re being taken care of by some of the best in the business. We strive to make sure that each of our clients knows that they are important to us, not because they spend money with us, but because we invest in them and in their lives. We still hear from clients from five years ago as they graduate college and start families of their own, and we’ve even attended weddings of past seniors too!

I think what really sets us apart from other photographers is our drive to bring out the personality of each and every senior and give them a unique experience. We don’t want to set up a few sets, do the same poses, and then kick people out of the studio so we can get the next client in. Each of our clients gets a full day of our attention and skill as well as a whole entourage of assistants that are there to make them look and feel like they’re a million bucks. Our clients always come first whether they want to wear a Chewbacca onesie or a prom dress!

If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
Nothing! All of the things we have learned over the years has shaped our team into the awesome beast that it is today. We probably could have done without dropping a flash or two, but all in all every scrape, bruise, ant bite, and fall has given us irreplaceable memories with our clients that we wouldn’t change for anything.

  • $599 for an all day session, free hair and makeup, unlimited locations in DFW, and a free Family Session – Packages starting at $780
  • $150 for an hour Family Session at one location in DFW – Packages starting at $725
