Today we’d like to introduce you to Matthew Smith Jr
Hi Matthew, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I was born in Long Beach, California and raised in west Dallas my youth years and my early teens in Duncanville where I graduated high school in 2017. The search for my life’s purpose was after I dropped out of college in 2018 and since then my goal has been to get paid to be myself. It’s 2025 and I am in my final stages officially launching my clothing brand named “Xlusive Oringinally Gifted” which means who you are is more important than what you want to be. I have also received a congressional recognition award for my unwavering support in the wise up to rise up foundation which has recognized my willingness to exercise my integrity in being authentically myself.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
To be transparent not in the beginning when I left college because getting paid to be myself was a feeling but I did not have a plan or explanation as to how I was going to accomplish that goal. My most in important struggle and what inspired my brand is that I did not know who I was on the inside I couldn’t comprehend the process to most of my thoughts and actions to even begin to articulate in words why I felt I wanted to get paid to be myself. These were my greatest challenges and that’s why everyday it gets smoother.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I currently work in the field of security which is what I specialize in and prioritize as a growing man. I also specialize in mental and spiritual security. I’m known for my strong will to persevere through any challenges of giving authority while remaining respectful but focused. I’m most proud of my confidence in my ability to lead with the understanding of the responsibilities that is required to lead people in the right direction even in the peak of chaos and lack of focus in any environment. I believe what sets me apart is my understanding of humility and discernment and knowing when to lead and/or listen which is a great challenge and responsibility that sets me greatly apart.
How do you think about happiness?
Lord God is what makes me happy everyday because I’m given another day to understand myself better and enough to share my thoughts and ideas without being unable to articulate them. Also I love doing push ups and going on runs in any type of weather. Fun fact most of my ideas and greatest thoughts came from me running.
