Meet Michael Lynn of Lynnlights in South

Today we’d like to introduce you to Michael Lynn.

Lynnlights – what should we know? What do you do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
I’m a Dallas based photographer exploring the world as best I can with my toolies to document these different angles this world provides. A lot of “photographers” here and many other places have cameras and label themselves professional without the credentials so they seem unfamiliar. Not only do I pride myself with all of my shots, but so do many others, and that itself is the blessing that shows competition I does this. My art comes from the pain & beauty I’m inspired by, but congested with. I set myself aside by putting myself any situation, where my gear could possibly disappear or the way formatting my images the way I do. Everyones process is different when working. I pride myself on all of my shots as if everyone making or brainstorming visions should. I motto myself (look, don’t smile), because of what I would love to keep in my style & mind just to set myself aside, and I feel I do, I pay attention to my own images 10x more than what many think; I figured the artist is always the hardest on him or herself. Achieve the goal and stop playin’, I want to see you up another level bih. Love GOD

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
I feel there needs to be a struggle in any profession and or everyday in life, just finding a way to balance that headache it brings right beside with it. From having to deal with people flaking or not showing to the shoots, that can kill the coolest mood. Being wanted for hire on constant occasions and the client not being able to afford what you charge, and it isn’t the issue which is what most would consider the worst problem, but I choose to make the negative a fun time anyway, by realizing that we made it to this moment and GOD makes no mistakes; so lets kill it.

So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I have been the creative I am today, just as a photographer now. I’ve always loved being a creator since he created me, or making projects for classes; even though high school wasn’t the best when came around as far as keeping my nose out things and me being pretty much a new comer to Dallas, until my senior days which brought light right to my eyes knowing Id have the opportunity to experience the golden state. Living in California at the time was fun simply because of the person you can be or cities to travel to release what’s on your mental. From my film photo classes my senior year in high school everything has moved as smooth as it should, consistency again is key in life. My love for photo escalated into digital & medium format,  while still putting film into play, because digital to me cant compete, but id choose film if we’re talking true love for the sport there’s nothing like it. Since photo has taken off, and now I choose to put myself around various things to shoot not just models, exploring is a must also, I always want to take it to the extreme, stay consistent, and give what I’m about; still looking up and keepin’ ten toes down is how you stay solid.

What is “success” or “successful” for you?
The inspiration your creativity carries you could do anything. Many photographers want big money through this, and that mindset is important sometimes even to me, but Id rather create images a million people love; that’s the golden ticket. I love to hear and see positive motives through my skill honestly. Watching yourself slowly but surely growing financially in any craft is blessing bound to happen, then consistency comes into play, don’t fold. Love GOD.
