Meet Naz Panjwani of Skin by Naz in Colleyville

Today we’d like to introduce you to Naz Panjwani.

So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
My interest in skincare and wellness began in my teenage years, as I struggled to cope with my own acne prone skin. I knew I wanted to treat my skin not just masking the problem, but by getting to the root cause of the acne and finding a holistic solution. I went to Esthetic school part time while still continuing my academics. After finishing up I started to give treatments to friends, family and neighbors to gain confidence and at the same time earn money. In 1990, I came to United States to better my life and knew in my heart that I could fulfill my dreams in this free country. After becoming a mom, life got busy and my dreams fell to the back burner. When my kids got older they could see that I felt unfulfilled; my children pushed me to pursue my dreams. It was then that I mustered the courage and enrolled myself in Esthetic school in Dallas. My family sacrificed and supported me to finish school. When I got my license I felt proud, humbled, and grateful. My first job was in the Med spa where I worked for little over a year and that was not my ideal place to work but it helped me figure out my niche what exactly I want to do next. My passion is customized corrective skin treatments where I can help people with different skin issues like melasma, rosacea, hyperpigmentation, acne, aging skin, etc. holistically. In 2011, I left that job and began my own business, Skin by Naz. I am grateful to have been an immigrant and made my dreams come true in this wonderful country of opportunities. My clients found me through word of mouth and now I am 5-6 weeks booked solid. I am so blessed and happy for what I do every day and my passion for skincare keeps me going.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Great things don’t come easy and I worked really hard to be where I am today. The credit for my success goes to my family – they have always supported me with whatever I wanted to do. I am a hardworking person and don’t take anything for granted in life; keeping clients happy is not easy but my result driven treatments keep attracting new clients to me and referrals are a huge part of my business.

We’d love to hear more about your business.
I view skincare as an art form, and my goal is to help each client’s skin from inside out. For me, beauty is more than simply appearing to have flawless skin- beauty comes from the well-being of one’s body. Every individual is different; everyone needs something unique & distinctive. I do not believe there is a magical cure-all treatment that can applied to everyone. What sets me apart from others is my specialty in skin treatment, I customize each treatment in which I design a facial according to one’s skin need and concern.

What were you like growing up?
I’ve always had an entrepreneurial spirit. As a child, watching my father run his business made me realize that one day when I grow up, I wanted to be my own boss. I like the freedom, and owning my own business gives me that. I am a free-spirited person and my mantra is don’t bother anyone and don’t want to be bothered. I love sharing my knowledge, such as being happy in any circumstances and spreading the love and peace.
