Meet Nefertiti Beal of Dallas-Fort Worth

Today we’d like to introduce you to Nefertiti Beal.

Hi Nefertiti, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I began my journey in 2018 from a genuine passion for makeup during a season where I was still searching for purpose in a career that truly fulfilled me. A close friend suggested I explore makeup artistry professionally, and what initially started as a creative passion quickly evolved into something much deeper.

As I transitioned into the bridal space, I recognized a gap in the industry—there weren’t enough bridal makeup artists intentionally catering to women of color, especially in a way that felt elevated, luxurious, and deeply personalized. That realization sparked a passion within me to create once-in-a-lifetime beauty experiences for brides who deserved to feel seen, celebrated, and confident on one of the most important days of their lives.

To me, beauty extends far beyond what you see on the surface. Every bride deserves precision, genuine care, and an experience that feels deeply personal from beginning to end. That philosophy continues to define my work and the level of service I bring to every bridal journey.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
One of the biggest struggles early in my career was defining my artistry and finding my own voice. In an industry driven by constantly changing trends, I had to step back and ask myself what I truly wanted my work to represent.

Rather than replicate another artist’s style, I focused on creating an approach that felt authentic to me and aligned with the experience I wanted my clients to have.

As trends come and go, many of my brides appreciate that I have a distinct signature style—what you see is truly what you get.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am a Dallas-based bridal makeup artist specializing in enhanced soft glam for women of color. I take immense pride in being known for enhancing and elevating my clients’ natural features.

What truly sets me apart is my consistency and precision across every face shape, skin type, and skin tone. I’ve invested significant time into mastering different techniques, undertones, and complexion products to ensure that every client receives a look that feels “like themselves, but better.” I believe women of color deserve artistry that is intentional and customized to their unique beauty.

Risk taking is a topic that people have widely differing views on – we’d love to hear your thoughts.
Beginning my makeup journey was a quite a risk in itself because, in what some may call a very bold (and slightly insane) life decision, I quit my corporate job after five years while being less than 6 months postpartum.

Crazy right?! No mapped out backup plan, no “just in case”— literally nothing.

I’ve always believed that if you want different results, you have to be willing to do something different. Growth rarely happens inside of comfort zones.. So, despite every practical voice in my head asking, “Are we sure about this?”—I jumped.

To this day – I am constantly learning, refining my craft, and pushing myself creatively because every new level of growth requires a little risk and a whole lot of crazy faith.
