Meet Nicole Crisp of Blue Bird Antique Mall & Treasure Shoppe

Today we’d like to introduce you to Nicole Crisp.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Blue Bird Antique Mall & Treasure Shoppe started as a passion project in 2012 while sourcing vintage and antique goods, I decided to start selling my treasured finds online.
In 2020 I sat down and wrote a business plan of what would eventually become the brick and mortar store that is now Blue Bird Antique Mall. I detailed my vision for a special place of connection, local vendors with beautiful curated spaces, a place where people would want to come escape.
After dreaming for a few years, I finally jumped in 2023 and Blue Bird Antique Mall & Treasure Shoppe in Tyler, Texas was born.
This was the best thing I have ever done, I tell everyone, I just wish I would have done it sooner.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
In the past three years, I’ve learned that not every day will be smooth sailing. We’ve had our fair share of hilarious and not so fun moments. The best one to date was a storm blowing half of my roof up. I joked that our shop was so good we literally blew the roof off.

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Blue Bird Antique Mall & Treasure Shoppe is an Antique Mall and Treasure Shoppe for the modern soul. With 85 thoughtfully curated vendor booth boutiques in Tyler, Texas, we are a place where folks come to get lost.

I am first and foremost everyone’s biggest cheerleader.

I want every experience to feel personal when they’re in my shop, because I am grateful that they took time in their day to show up and spend their hard earned money with us. How lucky is that?
