Today we’d like to introduce you to Patience Baity.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
My journey to Golden Cadence Consulting began more than two decades ago, when I entered the healthcare field as a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN). Like many healthcare professionals, I started at the bedside, focused on caring for patients and learning everything I could about the profession. Over the years, I continued my education, advanced my career, and had the opportunity to serve in a variety of healthcare settings, eventually growing into executive leadership roles.
Each stage of that journey shaped me in a different way. Working across healthcare environments exposed me to diverse patient populations, teams, challenges, and leadership styles. It was rewarding work, and I am grateful for the experiences that helped me grow professionally and personally. However, what impacted me most was not simply the clinical knowledge I gained or the positions I held; it was what I learned about people.
Throughout my career, I observed that many organizations measured success through outcomes, productivity, compliance, and performance indicators. While those measures are important, I also witnessed the difference that occurred when people felt valued beyond the numbers. The strongest teams weren’t always those working the hardest; they were often the teams led by individuals who invested in people, created supportive environments, and understood that sustainable success begins with human connection.
As I grew as a leader, I became increasingly passionate about leadership development, mentorship, and helping others navigate their professional journeys. I discovered that real growth happens when people are seen, developed, and empowered—not simply evaluated by their output. That belief became the foundation for both my leadership philosophy and, eventually, Golden Cadence Consulting.
In a world that often celebrates constant motion, I believe sustainable success comes from balancing accountability with compassion, performance with purpose, and ambition with intentionality. The name “Golden Cadence” reflects my philosophy that leadership, growth, and success all require rhythm, just as music relies on both the notes and the pauses.
Today, Golden Cadence Consulting combines leadership development, strategic consulting, legal nurse consulting, and curated event planning experiences under one brand. While these services may seem different on the surface, they are all rooted in the same mission: helping individuals and organizations create meaningful impact through clarity, intentionality, and thoughtful execution.
What started as a career in nursing has evolved into a platform that allows me to support leaders, organizations, and communities in new ways. As the business continues to grow, I am excited by the opportunity to expand my reach, develop future leaders, support clients through complex challenges, and create experiences that leave people feeling informed, empowered, and inspired. Golden Cadence Consulting is still evolving, but at its core it represents the culmination of everything I have learned throughout my career and the beginning of an exciting new chapter.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
No, it has not been a smooth road, but I believe those challenges have made the journey more meaningful.
Like many entrepreneurs, I initially underestimated what it truly takes to build and grow a business. I understood my profession, my expertise, and my passion for helping others, but I quickly learned that entrepreneurship requires an entirely different skill set. Marketing, branding, networking, business development, and consistently putting yourself out there do not always come naturally, especially for those of us who are more comfortable focusing on the work than promoting it.
At the same time, I was balancing a demanding healthcare career while raising a family. As a wife and mother, I spent many years supporting children through school, college, and the transition into adulthood. During that season of life, growing my business often took a back seat to the responsibilities and priorities that mattered most. While I never lost sight of the vision, there were periods when progress was slower than I had hoped.
One of the biggest lessons I learned was that expertise alone does not guarantee business success. You can be highly skilled at what you do and still need to learn how to communicate your value, build a brand, and create visibility. That realization challenged me to grow in ways I hadn’t anticipated.
This year, I decided to rebrand and essentially start over. Rather than viewing that as a setback, I chose to see it as an opportunity to create something that more accurately reflects who I am, what I have learned throughout my career, and the impact I want to make moving forward. Golden Cadence Consulting is the result of that reflection.
Looking back, I realize the road was not meant to be perfectly linear. Every challenge helped refine my vision and strengthen my purpose. The journey taught me that growth often happens in the pauses, not just in the progress.
Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Golden Cadence Consulting is a professional development, leadership consulting, and strategic advisory firm that helps individuals and organizations navigate growth, change, and complexity with confidence.
What makes the business unique is the breadth of experience that informs the work. My career has spanned direct patient care, healthcare operations, leadership development, and executive administration, giving me a practical understanding of both frontline challenges and organizational priorities. That perspective allows me to bridge the gap between strategy and execution, helping clients turn ideas into meaningful results.
Services include leadership development and coaching, professional development consulting, legal nurse consulting, and curated event planning. While these offerings may appear diverse, they share a common focus: helping people create experiences, solutions, and outcomes that are thoughtful, well-executed, and impactful.
I am particularly passionate about developing leaders. Many professionals are promoted because they excel in their roles but receive little support in learning how to lead others effectively. I enjoy helping emerging and established leaders strengthen their confidence, expand their influence, and build the skills necessary to lead teams successfully while remaining authentic to who they are.
What distinguishes my work is the perspective I bring to it. Having served in roles ranging from LVN to nurse executive, I understand both the challenges of frontline work and the complexities of leadership. That experience allows me to approach each engagement with empathy, insight, and a focus on sustainable outcomes. Whether I am developing leaders, providing clinical consultation, or coordinating a special event, I strive to create experiences that are intentional, well-executed, and reflective of what matters most to the people I serve.
What I am most proud of is that Golden Cadence Consulting continues to evolve in ways that authentically reflect my experiences, strengths, and passions. It is a business built on service, growth, and meaningful connection, and I am excited to continue expanding its reach and impact in the years ahead.
What has been the most important lesson you’ve learned along your journey?
One of the most important lessons I have learned is to never doubt your value or convince yourself that you don’t belong in the room.
Early in my career, I often found myself sitting at tables with people who had backgrounds, titles, experiences, or credentials different from my own. As someone who began my journey as a Licensed Vocational Nurse and worked my way into executive leadership, there were moments when I questioned whether I belonged in those spaces or whether my voice carried the same weight as others.
Over time, I learned that leadership is not defined by where you start. It is shaped by what you learn, how you grow, and the impact you make along the way. Every role I held, every challenge I faced, and every healthcare setting I worked in contributed to the perspective I bring today. The experiences that once made me feel different ultimately became my greatest strength.
I have also learned that many people spend far too much time waiting for permission to take up space, share their ideas, or pursue opportunities. The truth is that growth often begins the moment you stop questioning whether you belong and start recognizing the value you bring.
That lesson has influenced how I lead, mentor others, and approach entrepreneurship. I want people to understand that confidence is not the absence of doubt—it is the willingness to move forward despite it. Some of the most meaningful opportunities in my life came when I chose to trust my preparation, my experience, and my purpose, even before I felt completely ready.
If there is one thing I hope others take away from my journey, it is this: do not shrink yourself to fit the room. Bring your full experience, your perspective, and your voice to the table. You may discover that your unique journey is exactly what qualifies you to be there.
