Meet Ricardo Sieveking of Sieveking Capital

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ricardo Sieveking.

Hi Ricardo, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
My name is Ricardo Sieveking, and my background combines entrepreneurship, finance, hospitality, and investments. Originally from Guatemala, I developed an early passion for building businesses, creating experiences, and connecting people through culture, food, and hospitality.

Over the years, I’ve focused on growing ventures across spirits, hospitality, real estate, and private investments. I am the owner of Sieveking Capital and Oaxaca Mi Alma, projects centered around sharing Oaxacan culture through mezcal, food, and community-driven experiences. I’m also involved in Proyecto Tulum, a hospitality-focused venture inspired by experiential concepts and lifestyle spaces.

In addition to operating businesses, I work as an advisor with Legendary Ventures, where I help analyze companies, evaluate investment opportunities, and support growth strategy. Outside of hospitality, I actively invest in commercial and residential real estate as well as oil and gas opportunities.

Beyond business, I’m passionate about creating meaningful impact through community and relationship building. I serve on the board of the International Esperanza Project, an organization dedicated to supporting underserved communities, and I’m also an ambassador for The Moore Miami. My journey has been driven by a desire to combine entrepreneurship, culture, and investments to build businesses that create both long-term value and meaningful connections.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It definitely hasn’t been a completely smooth road. Building businesses in hospitality, spirits, and investments comes with constant challenges and uncertainty. One of the biggest lessons has been learning how to balance growth, risk, and stability while managing multiple ventures at once.

There have been financial challenges, difficult decisions, and moments where things didn’t go as planned, especially in industries as unpredictable as hospitality. But those experiences taught me resilience, adaptability, and the importance of staying focused on long-term goals and relationships. Every challenge has played a major role in shaping both my personal and professional growth.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about Sieveking Capital?
My work is centered around hospitality, culture, and investments, with a strong focus on building brands and experiences that bring people together. Through Sieveking Capital, we specialize in creating authentic, community-driven experiences inspired by Mexican culture, mezcal, food, and hospitality.

What sets our brands apart is the focus on storytelling, authenticity, and relationships. We’re not just selling a product or a service, we’re creating experiences that connect people to culture, community, and meaningful moments. Whether through hospitality concepts, curated events, or partnerships, the goal has always been to build something with long-term value and identity.

Beyond hospitality, I’m also involved in private investments across real estate, oil and gas, and growth-focused businesses. I enjoy combining operational experience with investment strategy to help build sustainable ventures and identify opportunities with strong potential.

What I’m most proud of is building brands and businesses that feel genuine and relationship-driven while continuing to grow organically through community, partnerships, and word of mouth. At the core of everything we do is a commitment to creating experiences and businesses that people genuinely connect with.

What matters most to you?
What matters most to me is God, family, health, relationships, and living a life filled with meaningful experiences. I value being present for the people around me and creating something that positively impacts both my family and the communities I’m part of.

Travel and experiencing different cultures have also played a huge role in shaping who I am. They’ve given me perspective, inspired many of my business ideas, and reinforced the importance of connection and authenticity.

Professionally, it’s important for me to feel that I’m contributing value to the organizations, businesses, and people I work with. I’m motivated by building things with purpose, creating opportunities for others, and leaving a positive impact through the businesses and relationships I build.
