Meet Roneka Turner of Kultured Krack & Kultured Essentials

Today we’d like to introduce you to Roneka Turner.

Hi Roneka, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
My entrepreneurial journey began with Kultured Essentials, a business I started out of a desire to create something of my own while providing for my family. Like many small business owners, I started with a vision, a lot of determination, and a willingness to learn as I went. As I continued to grow and explore new opportunities, I launched Kultured Krack, which allowed me to tap into my creativity and build a brand that people genuinely connect with.

What started as a small business venture has grown into two active brands that I continue to operate today. Along the way, I’ve learned the importance of consistency, customer service, adaptability, and perseverance. Building a business isn’t always easy, but every challenge has helped me become a stronger entrepreneur.

One of the most rewarding parts of this journey is that my children are involved in the businesses as well. They have been able to see firsthand what it takes to build something from the ground up and have participated in various aspects of the business. Being able to teach them about responsibility, hard work, and entrepreneurship while creating something meaningful together has been incredibly fulfilling.

Beyond entrepreneurship, I work full-time and understand the value of balancing multiple responsibilities while remaining committed to my goals. My passion has always been creating opportunities, serving my community, and showing others that with faith, determination, and consistency, it’s possible to turn an idea into something real.

Today, both Kultured Essentials and Kultured Krack continue to grow, and I am excited about what the future holds. My goal is not only to build successful businesses but also to create a legacy that inspires my children and others to pursue their dreams.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
No, it definitely has not been a smooth road. Like many entrepreneurs, I’ve faced challenges that tested both my business and my personal strength. Over the last several years, I’ve experienced the loss of multiple close family members, and those losses occurred back-to-back. There were times when I had to temporarily step away from my businesses to grieve, support my family, and focus on what mattered most.

Balancing entrepreneurship, a full-time career, family responsibilities, and personal loss has not always been easy. There have been moments when I questioned whether I had the energy to keep going. However, those experiences taught me resilience, patience, and the importance of giving myself grace during difficult seasons.

I’ve also learned that success isn’t always about constant growth—sometimes it’s about simply continuing to move forward despite life’s challenges. Each obstacle has strengthened my determination and reinforced why I started in the first place. Today, I am proud that despite the setbacks, both of my businesses remain active and continue to grow.

Those experiences have shaped not only the entrepreneur I am today, but also the person I am. They’ve taught me to appreciate every opportunity, remain adaptable, and never take a single day for granted.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
Kultured Krack is a family-operated specialty food business known for transforming everyday fruit and snacks into unique, flavorful experiences. We specialize in candied fruit creations, infused flavors, seasonal treats, and creative dessert offerings that combine nostalgia, fun, and bold flavors. What started as an idea has grown into a recognizable brand with a loyal customer base that continues to support us year after year.

What sets Kultured Krack apart is our creativity and our ability to constantly evolve. We are always introducing new products, experimenting with flavors, and finding innovative ways to keep our customers engaged. We don’t just sell products—we create experiences that people look forward to sharing with family and friends.

Another thing that makes our business special is that it is truly a family effort. My children are actively involved and have been able to learn valuable lessons about entrepreneurship, responsibility, customer service, and hard work. Being able to build a business while teaching the next generation how to create opportunities for themselves is one of my greatest accomplishments.

While we are known for our signature candied fruit creations, I am most proud of the community we have built around the brand. Our customers have supported us through new product launches, business growth, and personal challenges, and that support has allowed us to continue growing.

I want readers to know that Kultured Krack is more than a business—it’s a reflection of creativity, resilience, family, and community. Every product is created with passion, and every order represents an opportunity to provide our customers with something memorable. As we continue to grow, our goal is to expand our offerings, reach new customers, and continue building a legacy that our family can be proud of.

Do you have recommendations for books, apps, blogs, etc?
As an entrepreneur, I am always looking for inspiration and ways to learn. Social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, and Pinterest have been valuable resources for discovering new ideas, marketing strategies, and industry trends. I enjoy seeing how other business owners and creators innovate and connect with their audiences.

I also enjoy listening to podcasts and motivational content focused on entrepreneurship, personal growth, and financial literacy. Hearing the stories of people who have overcome obstacles and built successful businesses reminds me that persistence and consistency are key.

One resource that has become especially valuable to me is ChatGPT. I use it to brainstorm ideas, develop marketing content, organize business projects, and find creative solutions to challenges. As a business owner who wears many hats, having access to tools that help streamline ideas and improve efficiency has been incredibly helpful.

Most importantly, my greatest source of inspiration comes from my family and my customers. My children motivate me to continue building something meaningful, and the support of my customers encourages me to keep growing, creating, and pushing forward.
