Trails of Ivy started from the idea of a home childcare operation that has grown into a full-service childcare facility. The owner, Sarah, after her son’s time spent in a previous in-home center, saw a need and fulfilled a purpose, to grow the in-home concept into a childcare facility. One that fostered the same objectives and intimate environment of in-home care paired with all the resources and advantages of a commercial childcare center!
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
From the development of a business plan to the execution of state and city standards there has been a long road of ensuring all compliance obstacles were fulfilled with great care. The journey began with finding a suitable place in McKinney and renovating a building, built on the charm of a forgotten era, into a perfect classic country style. The next steps of this exciting transformation worked to develop a dream into a reality by slowly finalizing all the details that would provide a quality care service for the surrounding community families.
Please tell us about Trails of Ivy Child Development Center.
Our theme of small, intimate, engaged and personable rings true throughout the facility. Smaller environments help build self-esteem and provide for more one-on-one learning. From our staff size to the class sizes, we offer a more home-like setting in comparison to “mega childcare centers.”
If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
The Ivy is symbolic of the constant rise and growth that can be experienced when exposed to the right elements. Trails of Ivy provides those elements for each child to become their absolute best, both in and outside of school. I absolutely love what we are able to provide and wouldn’t change the journey for anything.
