Today we’d like to introduce you to Sau Taylor.
Hi Sau, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
My names Sau Taylor my stage name is Showtimesau born and raised in Houston Tx I’m a 23 year old serial entrepreneur with a unique eye for fashion and creativity. I’d describe my personal style and form of work/creativity as very PERSONAL, unorthodox, unique and authentic to me if I had to label it as any set style id label it as Showtime. My journey begin from the minute my parent allowed me to dress myself in middle school and full express myself from hot pink pants, with mix n match socks with yellow KDs i knew my style and visions were always unique it just took time to put the pieces together. I create unorthodox and original visual art utilizing myself and others to create captivating photo shoots that give my audience something to think about and wonder “ what made her think to do that”.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Some of the challenges i have faces along my creative journey begin in my own household it was my biggest challenge and motivator at the same time. Growing up in an africa/ Carribean house hold my family didn’t full understand the avenue i was pursuing and seeing my dreams as something I could’ve excel or produce any sort of sustainability from. Being that I didn’t have the internal support that you usually get from your house hold i also grew to have insecurities about how i was perceived online and just being fully confident in putting myself out there on the internet and authentically expressing me and the work i make knowing it is great and one of a kind regardless of outside factors.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I am an artist of many skills from modeling, creative directing, and stylist to making clothes and tattoo artist. I take pride in creating unorthodox and original visual art utilizing myself and other subjects to create captivating photo shoots that give my audience something to think about and admire art that hasn’t been seen before or taking pieces and showcasing them in ways one could’ve never envisioned that leaves the audience not only curious but seeking the next creativity project. I’m most proud of all my creations every work of art I create and produce has its own story and creative process behind it to make it all come to life in its own unique way that while isn’t the same as the last somehow all seems to make sense to something only Showtime would do. Every milestone I’ve reached just from my first fashion show, to the creative/brand shoots I’ve curated, to the networking events and communities I’ve made all are my proudest moment there isn’t an accolade or accomplishment that supersedes the rest. My individuality and form of expression of such a wide range along with my innovative mindset sets me apart from anyone else.
What matters most to you?
To me my authenticity and staying true to myself is most important, not losing sight of why i begin this journey. I want my work to spark the creativity and youthful limitless imagination in those who feel unsupported or restricted by their environment. Also to ignite a confidence that is unwavering within anyone who sees my work to believe they can create just as unique work in their own special way. Just knowing that every piece of work i put out and do I one step better than my last always progressing Dan showing my self new heights that I am able to achieve
