Today we’d like to introduce you to Shawn Kint.
Hi Shawn, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I joined the Dallas Party Bike team in March 2019 as the Operations Manager. Over the next four years, I focused on improving every aspect of the business—from streamlining operations and creating more efficient processes to refining the tour experience and training our guides to deliver exceptional customer service. Those years gave me a deep understanding of what makes a great guest experience and what it takes to run a successful tourism business.
In March 2023, I had the opportunity to purchase Dallas Party Bike from the original owner, and I’ve been proud to own and operate the business ever since. Today, my goal is to continue building on that foundation by creating unforgettable experiences for both Dallas locals and visitors while constantly looking for ways to improve and grow the business.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road, but I think that’s true of any business. Every industry has its challenges, and ours is no exception. One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned is that if you stay focused on your core values—providing an exceptional guest experience, taking care of your team, and continually improving—you can navigate almost any obstacle.
One of the biggest challenges over the past six years has been the unpredictability of the tourism industry. From the impact of COVID-19 to shifts in the economy and consumer spending, we’ve had to constantly adapt. Those experiences have taught me to be flexible, make decisions based on the data available, and always be prepared to adjust when circumstances change. While those challenges haven’t been easy, they’ve made us a stronger and more resilient business.
As you know, we’re big fans of Dallas Party Bike. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
Dallas Party Bike is all about creating memorable experiences. We offer guided, pedal-powered pub crawl tours through Deep Ellum and Downtown Dallas that are perfect for birthdays, bachelorette parties, corporate team outings, tourists, and anyone looking for a fun and unique way to experience the city.
What sets us apart is our commitment to the guest experience. From the moment someone books with us until the tour ends, we want every interaction to be easy, fun, and memorable. We invest heavily in training our tour guides because they’re the face of our business, and we believe great people create great experiences.
I’m especially proud of the reputation we’ve built. Our 1000+ five-star reviews across Google and TripAdvisor weren’t earned overnight—they’re the result of consistently delivering an experience that exceeds expectations. We don’t just want people to have a good time; we want them to leave talking about Dallas Party Bike long after their tour is over. Whether you’re visiting Dallas for the first time or you’ve lived here your entire life, our goal is to help you experience the city in a way you won’t find anywhere else.
Do you have any advice for those looking to network or find a mentor?
I’ve been fortunate to have a mentor in the original owner of Dallas Party Bike. Working alongside him for four years gave me the opportunity to learn every aspect of the business—from day-to-day operations to long-term strategy. That relationship ultimately gave me the confidence to purchase the business, and even today we still connect occasionally to discuss industry trends, ideas, and challenges.
My advice for finding a mentor is to focus on building genuine relationships rather than simply asking someone to mentor you. Show that you’re willing to learn, ask thoughtful questions, and consistently follow through. Most successful people are happy to share their knowledge with someone who is engaged and eager to grow.
Networking has been valuable for me as well. Whether it’s connecting with other business owners, tourism professionals, or community organizations, I’ve found that some of the best ideas and opportunities come from conversations with people who have different perspectives and experiences. Surrounding yourself with people who challenge you to think bigger can have a tremendous impact on both your business and your personal growth.
