Shenia started her hair design business as the owner of Dare 2 B Different Hair Salon and parent company DeBrit Beauty and Spa in Dallas. For ten years, she created scene-stealing hair designs for some of the city’s high profile socialites, public and private figures – clients that continue to seek her for knowledge of hair and style.
Inspired by the birth of her son, Shenia realized another dream – expressing her sense of style and creativity in the fashion world. Realizing expectant mothers wanted to be fashionable while expecting their bundle of joy, Shenia took her sense of style and opened Belly Chic Maternity in Highland Park, a destination-shopping district in Dallas. Belly Chic Maternity received rave reviews from Dallas media and clients alike for her high quality, fashionable maternity clothes, and accessories.
After four years in the retail industry, Shenia returned to her passion – creating hair designs for the fashion mavens of Dallas. Positioning her business as a full-service hair salon, Shenia also offers hair restoration and hair replacement services for men and women. Collaborating with a trichologist, she developed and created Elite Emage Hair Restoration in Dallas. Through this partnership, Shenia addressed the concerns of men and women who are losing their hair and provide customized hair solutions that help restore their confidence.
Shenia creates hair extensions, weaves, custom wigs, and hair replacement solutions from her personally created premium line of 100% virgin human hair, Exotic Hair Collection. Shenia works with her partners around the globe to obtain virgin hair for the hair designs she creates for her fashionably discerning clients.
Always a student of style, Shenia stays on top of trends in the hair and clothing industries. With a laser focus on a woman’s image from head to toe, Shenia is taking her years of experience in fashion and the retail business and adding other beauty related products to her menu of services.
Shenia’s newest venture, Exotic Hair Boutique, is a luxury hair and wig boutique, located in the heart of the Dallas Design District. The boutique features Shenia’s Exotic Hair Collection, her exclusive brand of hair she uses for hair extensions and wigs. Along with the retail boutique, Shenia provides her signature salon services to maintain her clients’ extensions between their visits. Shenia’s vision is to open more locations with this concept across the country.
Has it been a smooth road?
It has not been as smooth as I would have liked. I’ve had to evolve as a hairstylist with the times. Whether it was adding new services or product, I’ve had to change to stay more competitive and offer my clients new and better techniques.

The Exotic Hair Boutique is a luxury hair and wig boutique where I specialize in all types of hair extensions and healthy hair. Also, I create custom wigs for women and girls suffering from hair loss due to cancer or alopecia. This is what makes me so proud! Being able to help women losing their hair and creating something especially for them.
Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
What I love most about Dallas is the cosmopolitan feel of the city. I believe it has some of the best fashion, restaurants and art that you can find. It’s becoming one of the best cities to live in the US. However, with that comes all the growth going on which is sometimes my least favorite part to deal with.
