Meet Stephanie Jarrett of Everything Arlington

Today we’d like to introduce you to Stephanie Jarrett.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Stephanie. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I’m a bit of a “mom about time.” In the eight-plus year I’ve been a mom, I’ve driven all of the metroplex (the country, too!) in pursuit of awesome activities for my girls. We’ve driven from Frisco to Burleson and Mesquite to White Settlement to find fun splash pads, gym, trampoline parks, you name it, and always post about our experiences on social media. Two summers ago, friends were texting, emailing, calling regularly asking if this activity was worth the money or that one worth the drive. They knew we’d done it all! Someone suggested I start a blog and Facebook page with all the happenings for kids in the area- something that really wasn’t available in the Arlington area. I now have more than 9,000 followers who ask me about everything from new happenings in Arlington to best summer camps in the area and everything in between. I do my best to know what’s happening for kids in this area of the Metroplex. I love being a mom in the know!

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
There are lots of great resources in Dallas, Collin County and Fort Worth for caregivers and kids. But Arlington, not so much. No blogs specific to our area, not a high concentration of kids play areas or classes. I created my blog to help create that resource. My page is gaining more followers each month and people are starting to come to me to get the word out about their business. I love it!

Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Everything Arlington, TX – what should we know?
I run a Facebook page and blog with activities, events and class ideas for kids, as well as reviews of popular kids places all over DFW. I wrote about classes we attend, activities we frequent, large attractions that are brand new and ones that have been around for ages. I also share events for area businesses such as the local libraries. I also share info about Arlington that I think my readers will find relevant. I’m known for being a busy mom about town for sure! My page is different from so many because I focus primarily on Arlington and Mansfield. There are so many great resources for Dallas County, Collin County and Tarrant County in the whole- but nothing for Arlington specifically. I’m here to change that!

Is there a characteristic or quality that you feel is essential to success?
I have to be willing to drive everywhere and try new things! We’ve gone to play places in Frisco and soccer classes in Keller and water parks in Burleson. I have to be willing to go (and often pay my own way!) so I can post about the activities and the ages of kiddos I’d recommend them for!
