Today we’d like to introduce you to Tenisha Graham.
Hi Tenisha, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I am a creative entrepreneur whose journey has evolved through multiple industries while always staying rooted in artistry and innovation. I began my career as a dancer, choreographer, and dance studio owner, spending 18 years inspiring students through movement and performance. In 2018, my dance studio went out of business, forcing me to completely re-shift and reimagine my future. During that same season of transition, my family was asked to take in an exchange student who needed to be rehomed in our area. We did not feel ready, we were stressed, in a financial crisis and I had a nine month old baby. My older boys were only eight and eleven years old. She came to study here knowing very little English and knowing no one. I thought to myself, if this young girl can do this, I can shift too. She became such a light and inspiration in our lives, reminding me of the beauty of resilience, connection, and embracing new beginnings. She was the first of 3 foreign exchange girls we have hosted. They were all precious and taught our family so much. They are now like our daughters. My husband and three sons became a family of eight and all we had to do was say “yes” and show up with love and consistency for them. That period of change ultimately pushed me to step into new ventures, including real estate and boutique ownership, while continuing to follow my creative instincts.
Over time, my passion for design evolved into launching my jewelry brand, Tenisha Graham Designs, under my company, Prissy Picasso. Known for creating timeless, effortless pieces, I am now also preparing to debut a handbag line that reflects my signature aesthetic and love for bold, elevated style. Along the way, I also served as an elementary art and music teacher for students in kindergarten through fifth grade throughout Central Texas, combining my passion for creativity and education. Now, I coach a handful of Entrepreneurs and use my intuition and experience to guide them to shift like I did so many times. Today, my primary focus is expanding my jewelry line into stores and boutiques across Dallas and throughout Texas, building a brand that celebrates style, confidence, creativity, and reinvention.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
No! It has not been easy. It has taken lots of grit and resilience to overcome businesses that didn’t “take” and understand that it wasn’t me that was the problem. It was the timing or the idea that needed a little help. I learned eventually that the closer I understood my true and authentic self, the more successful my business is. It is because we somehow step into a flow that isn’t hard, a flow without resistance. When I started really following my passions and having fun is when I started to see success!
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
Throughout my career I have shifted gears and pivoted many times. I am proud that I didn’t lock my idenity around a specific career and I allow myself to flow and be me in every season. I am proud that I have created a line that fits two archetypes of women. Which I feel I embody each of these at some point in my life and shift between them fluidly. I am a professional, “The Clara Line”, I am a creative and an artist, “The Nesha Line” which allows me to be creative and unique and embrace style as an art form. I am a designer, brand founder, and executive coach whose work centers on one core truth: identity is not fixed on a job or career—it evolves, we change and we grow. My career has been a living testament to that belief. From dance studio owner to educator, and now to luxury brand builder and transformational coach, I have pivoted with intention each time life demanded reinvention.
Today, my primary focus is growing a jewelry—and soon handbag—brand that embodies elegance, self-expression, and modern luxury. Each piece is more than an accessory; it is a reflection of self—refined, expressive, and rooted in integrity. As my brand gains recognition, including visibility across Texas and even among celebrities in London, it affirms not just success, but alignment.
Alongside my design work, I coach a select group of entrepreneurs and executives, guiding them to manage their energy, reclaim their creative power, and release identity structures formed around a single career or title. My approach supports leaders in stepping fully into their genius without remaining tethered to who they once believed themselves to be.
I am proud not only of what I have built, but of the courage it took to shift gears when life unexpectedly pulled the rug out from under me. I am proud that I chose love and integrity as non-negotiables. I am proud of a 24-year marriage and of raising three remarkable sons. And I am proud that my work—both in business and in service—is being recognized on a global stage.
Above all, my message is simple: embrace your gifts, trust your evolution, and take a chance on yourself. The life—and brand—you build on the other side may be greater than anything you originally imagined.
What has been the most important lesson you’ve learned along your journey?
To not be afraid to shift gears and start something new. To pick yourself up after a devastating loss, like the dance studio was for me. For me it was a childhood dream that felt shattered. Instead of letting that be the end of my career endeavors… I recreated myself with another part of me…another gift that had been pressed down. Now, I feel like my most authentic true self because I didn’t throw in my entrepreneur towel!
