Hi Vin, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
After 15 years in IT, I decided to take a leap and build my first business, Lone Star Finish, a mobile auto detailing service serving the DFW area. My time in IT taught me the importance of communication, accountability, attention to detail, and taking care of people’s needs with professionalism.
I’ve always cared about doing quality work, and detailing gave me a way to combine that mindset with something hands-on and service driven. Lone Star Finish was built around bringing convenience, care, and high quality detailing directly to customers at their home or office.
Today, I’m focused on growing the business one vehicle and one customer at a time, while serving the community with the same work ethic, pride, and accountability that shaped me throughout my career.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It definitely has not been a completely smooth road, but I think that is part of the process of becoming a first time business owner. I am learning as I go, and every stage has taught me something valuable.
One of the biggest challenges has been learning how to build the business beyond just doing good work. Finding leads, marketing myself, pricing services correctly, managing the schedule, handling customer communication, and staying consistent all require a different kind of discipline. In the beginning, you realize quickly that being good at the service is only one part of running a business.
There have been ups and downs, but each challenge has helped me grow. I have learned to be more patient, more intentional, and more confident in the value I provide. I am still learning every day, but I am proud of the progress and grateful for every customer who has trusted Lone Star Finish along the way.
