Rising Stars: Meet Annaly Mawire

Today we’d like to introduce you to Annaly Mawire.

Hi Annaly, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I grew up as a pastor’s kid, so faith was always around me, but it wasn’t until I personally went through a season of battling anxiety and depression that my relationship with God became real and deeply personal. In that season, I wasn’t just looking for answers, I was looking for healing, stability, and something solid to hold onto.

It was through intentionally turning to Scripture, prayer, and worship that I began to experience a real internal shift. Over time, God started renewing my mind and reshaping how I saw myself and my life. I later learned about concepts like neuroplasticity, which gave language to the process I was experiencing, but for me it was ultimately the Word of God that became the anchor that held me steady and transformed my thinking.

That’s also where I developed a deep conviction that Scripture isn’t just something we believe in emotionally, it has to be the anchor we build our lives on, especially when navigating personal struggles and the complexity of today’s culture. In a world that is constantly shifting in identity, truth, and perspective, I’ve found that God’s Word brings clarity, grounding, and direction.

That experience changed the trajectory of my life. What started as personal healing became a passion to help others understand that faith isn’t just something you grow up around, it’s something that becomes alive and practical in the middle of real life.

Today, through worship, music, podcast conversations, and media, I create spaces for honest dialogue around faith, culture, and identity. My heart is to point people back to hope and truth, and to remind them that God still transforms lives from the inside out.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It definitely hasn’t been a completely smooth road. A big part of my journey has been learning how to navigate internal struggles while still holding onto faith. There were seasons where I was dealing with anxiety, depression, and heavy thought patterns that made it difficult to feel grounded or clear about who I was and where I was going.

One of the hardest parts was realizing that even though I grew up around faith, I still had to personally learn how to make Scripture my own anchor, not just something I heard, but something I depended on in real time. That meant unlearning certain thought patterns and learning how to consistently renew my mind with God’s Word, even when I didn’t feel immediate change.

There were also moments of wrestling through identity, pressure, and trying to understand how faith intersects with culture in a real and honest way. Learning to speak into that space with both conviction and compassion has been a growing process for me.

But even in the struggle, that’s where I’ve seen the most transformation. God has used those seasons to shape my message, deepen my faith, and give me a real compassion for people who are navigating similar battles. And in many ways, the challenges are what made the message I carry today so personal and grounded.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
My work sits at the intersection of faith, culture, worship, and honest conversations about mental and spiritual transformation. I’m a worship leader, singer/songwriter, and podcast host, and through all of those spaces, my focus is creating environments where people can encounter God in a real and practical way, not just emotionally, but in the way they think, heal, and live.

A big part of what I’m known for is helping people connect Scripture to everyday life, especially when it comes to mental renewal, identity, and navigating culture. My own testimony of walking through anxiety and depression, and experiencing God renew my mind through His Word, really shaped the foundation of my message. I often speak about how Scripture became the anchor in my life, especially in seasons of struggle and in learning how to navigate a rapidly shifting cultural landscape.

What sets me apart is that I don’t just approach faith as inspiration, I approach it as transformation. I love bringing together spiritual truth and real-life application in a way that feels accessible, honest, and grounded. I also enjoy creating space for conversations that many people are already having internally but don’t always feel safe expressing openly.

What I’m most proud of is seeing people impacted by that message, whether through worship, a podcast conversation, or a simple piece of content that helps someone feel seen, understood, or redirected toward hope. For me, it’s not about platforms as much as it is about people encountering truth and realizing they’re not alone in what they’re walking through.

Are there any books, apps, podcasts or blogs that help you do your best?
A lot of what helps me stay grounded comes back to Scripture itself. The Bible is my primary anchor and daily source of guidance, especially when it comes to navigating life, leadership, and culture. I’ve found that consistently staying in God’s Word really shapes how I think, process challenges, and stay centered.

Outside of that, I’m also encouraged by content that sits at the intersection of faith and prophecy, especially podcasts and conversations that explore how faith applies to real-life struggles in a practical way. I appreciate voices that are honest about growth, healing, and the process of transformation rather than just polished outcomes.

I also find value in creative and worship-centered resources that help keep my heart grounded in intimacy with God, especially through music and moments of reflection. Ultimately, though, I’ve learned that everything flows best when Scripture remains the foundation and anchor for how I approach both life and work.
