Today we’d like to introduce you to Brandon Dang.
Brandon, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
Hello, Voyage Magazine! My name is Noodz (Brandon Dang) from Arlington, Texas. It’s great to be back, and I’m excited to share what I’ve been up to since my last feature.
My journey into music started with a genuine love for electronic music. I was drawn to the energy and emotion that every track could create. After spending countless hours watching artists like Yellow Claw, Slander, Excision, and RL Grime perform, I realized this was something I wanted to pursue myself.
After graduating high school, I received my very first DJ controller as a gift, and that’s where everything began.
Like many artists, the journey was far from easy. During my first few years, I had no idea how to book shows or get my name out there. I spent countless hours networking, building relationships, and learning the business side of the music industry. Every connection and every opportunity helped me move one step closer to becoming the DJ and artist I had always envisioned.
Today, I feel incredibly grateful for how far that journey has taken me. I’ve had the opportunity to open for internationally recognized artists such as Yultron, Borgore, Control Freak, Eliminate, and Beauz, as well as perform at Breakaway Music Festival in Dallas.
Right now, I’m entering one of the most exciting chapters of my career. Over the past year, I’ve been focused on producing my own music… a goal I’ve dreamed about for a long time. While I’ve kept much of it behind the scenes, I’m finally getting ready to share it with the world, and I couldn’t be more excited for what’s ahead.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Absolutely not. Like many artists, I wish the journey had been easier, but every challenge taught me something valuable.
One of the biggest obstacles I faced early on had nothing to do with making music—it was learning the business side of the industry. It’s easy to get caught up in producing tracks, perfecting your sound, and focusing on your craft. What many new artists overlook, including myself at first, is the importance of building genuine relationships with the people around you.
Looking back, I’m incredibly grateful for everyone I’ve met along the way. Those conversations, friendships, and connections have opened doors that I never could have predicted. If there’s one piece of advice I wish I had received earlier, it’s to get involved in your local music community. Meet promoters, fellow artists, photographers, videographers, and other creatives face-to-face. Simply showing up and building authentic relationships can create opportunities that no amount of time spent behind a computer can replace.
There’s no single formula for building a successful music career, but one thing I’ve learned is that networking can take you farther than you might expect. You never know if the next person you meet will become your future collaborator, help you land a festival booking, or simply become someone who genuinely believes in your music. Building those relationships early can make all the difference, and it’s something I encourage every aspiring artist to embrace.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Since my last feature with *Voyage Magazine*, my career has evolved in an exciting way. While I’ve continued building my DJ career and growing alongside my music collective/team “Gone Rude”, I’ve also stepped into a new chapter as a music producer. Over the past year, I’ve dedicated myself to creating original music, and I’m incredibly excited to finally share the sound I’ve been developing.
The music I produce is a direct reflection of the energy I’ve brought to my DJ sets throughout my career. My foundation has always been EDM trap, but I’ve become equally inspired by the intensity of hard techno. That led me to create what I call “TRAPNO”—a fusion of trap and techno that blends rap vocals, hard-hitting trap drums, and driving techno synths into one high-energy experience.
This is what I’m most proud of. Finding my own identity as an artist wasn’t easy. It took countless late nights of experimenting, producing, and refining ideas before everything finally clicked. Once it did, I knew I had found a sound that truly represented me and the direction I wanted to take my music.
What sets Noodz apart is authenticity. The music I produce and perform is unapologetically me. I don’t create music to fit trends—I create the music I genuinely love to play. Every track is designed to keep the crowd on their toes while delivering the rowdy, high-energy atmosphere people have come to expect from a Noodz set.
My hope is that TRAPNO resonates with the electronic music community, but more than anything, I want listeners to hear the passion behind it. This is the sound I’ve been crafting for the past year, and I’m excited to finally bring it to the world.
Before we go, is there anything else you can share with us?
I also want to give a special shoutout to my team, **Gone Rude**. This collective is made up of incredibly talented artists who all share the same drive and vision, and I’m genuinely grateful to have a support system like this behind me. It’s something I didn’t even realize I needed when I first started this journey.
A big thank you to my music duo and close collaborator, **Mursa**, who has played a major role in this new chapter of my production journey. He’s taught me so much about music and creativity, and together we’ve built countless memories through the process of making music. I’m grateful to be able to grow side by side with him under Gone Rude.
Shoutout to our manager, **Roland Rivera**, the backbone of the team and truly the heart of Gone Rude. His dedication and work ethic keep everything moving forward, and we’re incredibly thankful for the way he continues to support and believe in the vision.
Much love to **Effy**, who brings both energy and heart into everything she does. She’s an important part of the collective, and it’s inspiring to watch her grow in her own musical journey while contributing so much to the team.
And lastly, a huge thank you to our head of media, **Eduardo Padron (Project Obscura)**. He’s been with us since the beginning and has played a major role in bringing our vision to life visually. His creativity and ability to translate our ideas into content has been essential in telling the Gone Rude story the way it’s meant to be told.
None of this would feel the same without the people around me, and I’m grateful every day to be building this journey with them.
