Today we’d like to introduce you to Carrie Rosenbalm.
Hi Carrie, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today.
When I was growing up, my grandparents lived in Austin. My cousins and I would spend weeks in the summer with them where we would go on all kinds of adventures in the Hill Country. Those summers spent exploring caves and swimming holes made me fall in love with Texas. And I love sharing my love for Texas.
So, when my two daughters were old enough to start exploring the Hill Country, we made it an annual tradition to take an epic road trip packed with as many adventures as we can fit in. In the early years of our tradition, we mainly explored the Hill Country and occasionally the coast. Thankfully, so many of the things I did with my grandparents and cousins growing up were really budget friendly because we had a tight travel budget as a young family. I quickly realized that by centering our travel around visiting state parks we would be able to see so many parts of the state in really affordable ways. And now, what started as an annual road trip tradition has become a continual road trip lifestyle that has taken us to almost every corner of the state.
The summer of 2o20, I began sharing our travels in hopes of inspiring other Texans to get out and explore this big, beautiful state. Later that year, we invested in an RV for our adventures, and we try to explore with it at least once a month. Our next adventure will take us to Big Bend!
We all face challenges, but looking back, would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It’s definitely been challenging figuring out how to fully enjoy our travels when we’re also having to be content creators trying to accomplish content objectives.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I am proud to say I have gotten to work with some incredible Texas brands, hotels & rental properties, and travel bureaus since starting this online journey. I’m most proud of my partnership with GO TEXAN to raise awareness for their market at the State Fair of Texas. GO TEXAN is a program within the state’s Department of Agriculture that supports and promotes Texas businesses and Texas-made products.
What does success mean to you?
For myself, I define success as finding something that I can do that brings me joy and helps others. It brings me joy to take my family on adventure filled trips as much as it brings me joy knowing others are inspired by our adventures.
