Rising Stars: Meet Courtney Utter of Dallas-Fort Worth

Today we’d like to introduce you to Courtney Utter.

Hi Courtney, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I started making art after I lost my left arm in 2017. I needed something to give me purpose and feel whole again.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It’s been rough. Trying to navigate life with one arm, much less trying to create art is hard. But I do what I can!

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I work from home for a financial advisor. It’s great work! I don’t really think I’m known for anything specific just being me. Of course because the loss of the arm, I’m pretty recognizable. 🙂

What matters most to you?
Health matters the most. The old adage is, if you don’t have that, you don’t have much.

I think really true, loyal friends are such a blessing. Those are the ones who know way too much about you but love you anyway!
