Rising Stars: Meet Eve Wooten

Today we’d like to introduce you to Eve Wooten.

Hi Eve, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
Like I love to start my shows by saying, “Put your seatbelts on the beat because this ride is going to get gooder and gooder” My life journey started At birth. My twin brother and I were born but abandoned. We were turned over to the state and processed from there. My parents adopted us around one year of age… and named us Adam and Eve because we were our beginning.🙂 My father is a minister so we grew up always in church and with came my love for singing. A cappella music was my foundation. I sang in the school choir and for a short time church choir. I was shy, belief or not. Fast forward 20 years, I’m bartending at a local bar and they had a live band karaoke show. Well, I couldn’t help myself, so I signed up. They called my name and I stepped on stage.

From the moment I heard the kick in the drum, I “felt” music for the FIRST TIME. And it FELT GREAT! From that moment I knew music, ‘FeelGoodMusic’ is what I wanted to give. I have been blessed to open up for such amazing artists and bands, such as Xapp band, the Original Lakeside band, R.l. from the group NEXXT, Cherelle, Chauncey from the group Blackstreet. I have headlined with Grammy award winners Bobby Rush and Vasti Jackson. I have sung with some of the best cover bands in DFW, singing on stage as far a New York and prayfully, next year, I’ll be International. Fast forward to today, I have been blessed to have my own band for over two years now. 4 Ya Soul is a group of amazingly talented musicians. They accompany week after week as we bring FeelGoodMusic to people all over the world. My life almost feels like I’m sometimes dreaming. There’s so much more to my story than these free words. But I’ll stop here… for now. 🎶

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Being adopted and not knowing any of my past, my biological family. My adopted parents, after adopting me, my brother, and our big sister (separate adoption), ended up having two biological kids of their own. There was always a comparison, but I knew we were different, I always said when the day comes and I get to meet my real parents. We always wanted them to be proud of what we have accomplished. So I always used my story as a stepping stone and not a crutch. I tell adopted kids all the time, we are a special group of people. Because we can be whoever we were meant to be in life. And not be compared to mommy doctor and daddy lawyer. I’m probably typing too much lol sorry… my life is crazy… Fast forward to a year ago, my ex bought me a DNA test. Ancestry.com and I got the results back. That’s a WHOLE NOTHER STORY 🎶, lol.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
