Today we’d like to introduce you to Kendra Nicole
Hi Kendra, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I started making art very young. I spent a lot of time painting with my cousins. I also participated in art class and looked forward to learning new things. I eventually joined a few art clubs and got accepted into the ‘gifted, talented and creative’ art group at school. Throughout my middle school years, I painted murals and signed up for drawing contests. At the end of my graduating year, I painted a galaxy themed mural along with other art students. Graphic Design class was my favorite class for sure. I learned so much about Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator. Today, I enjoy creating all types of art. But I really enjoy creating graphic art the most. Painting is also super fun.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Has it been a smooth road? Not exactly. I’ve dealt with a lot of unpleasant moments. But don’t we all? One struggle I’d like to mention would be living with something called, ‘Panic Disorder’. Anxiety is just not fun. But having it occur all the time is awful. Art helps me deal with stress and anxiousness. I find it relaxing and therapeutic.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I create various types of art. I am known for my digital art displayed on my social media pages. I love graphic design and painting. I am proud of my paintings that I’ve created as a live painter for an assortment of events. My art is different and it is a reflection of my personality. I think it’s cool to be different. If I am apart of a group, I’d much rather be a leader than a follower.
We’d love to hear about any fond memories you have from when you were growing up?
I was 4 or 5 years old. My family and I took a train to Disney World. The hotel we stayed at was so cool. There were Disney characters and a pool designed like a piano. We went to Sea World, Epcot, Universal Studios and Animal Kingdom. I had breakfast and took pictures with the Disney princesses. I loved going on the tea cups ride. I also got my face painted. It was a good time that I will always remember.
