Rising Stars: Meet Manuel Moya

Today we’d like to introduce you to Manuel Moya.

Hi Manuel, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
My name is Manuel Manuel Moya Pinillo, native-born and raised Venezuelan, journalist, publicist, producer and broadcaster, entertainer. I am from a small city in Venezuela, called Araure, Portuguesa state, known for its potential in food production, where almost 40% of the corn that is processed to make bread flour is produced, a product that is the flag of all Venezuelans inside and outside our country. I am the third of four brothers, all journalists. I grew up in an advertising company that is currently managed by my brothers in Venezuela, so my experience is somewhat extensive because my childhood I was surrounded by a creative world.  An example, it is very easy for me to create, market, brand, design, and produce an idea from scratch. I love new challenges and getting to know new markets. That’s why I approached my experience in my family’s advertising offices… However, I was very curious about art, television, and cinema, that led me to participate in small TV commercials, and magazine covers, and I also had the opportunity to participate as an extra in the well-known “The Liberator” on the life of Simon Bolivar film. Starring Edgar Ramírez, a well-known Venezuelan actor in the world of American cinema. Also, I have regional recognition for a radio program called “Más Temprano que Nunca” which was broadcasted for almost 10 years on two major radio stations in my hometown. Known in Araure, now unknown in Dallas I arrived in this beautiful city in April 2016, due to political persecution in my country.  I had to make the fast and difficult decision to flee for fear of dying. A friend that I had not seen for 13 years gave me support in which I am very grateful for. I had to work on many things that I never imagined. It has been a beautiful process because it has helped me grow personally and spiritually. It wasn’t until sometime later, in the middle of an event where I was mistakenly playing a DJ instead of an entertainer, where I met someone who helped me pave the way for a radio station that was looking for a Latino by chance, I got in touch with them, and from the First moment there was a connection, after 2 weeks they called me and told me to go to the radio to see my schedule and know my guidelines, from that moment to be quite honest I did not know what was happening. Sometime later and with a lot of effort, he found me cheering at events of great figures such as Marko Música, Nacho, and Felipe Pelaez among others; winner for 2 consecutive years of the award for best Latin program on Fisbowl Radio, the online radio that opened my doors to him. I have currently designed workshops to be able to reach all Latin entrepreneurs so that they can learn to make videos and content for their social networks. Also, a month ago I started a new project called Notiredes, which deals with the most outstanding news on social networks that happens week by week.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
English has been difficult for me to speak, but I understand it a lot, I think it has been my biggest limitation because I have talent, and showing it depends on me and no one else. I have gone through processes such as the loss of my father a year and a half ago, and the loss of my brother also 4 months ago, it has been a very hard blow because I could not be there to say goodbye, and only that pain I understand, and that has echo replace what I do.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
My profession is a journalist and marketing, I think I had an advantage, is that from a very young age my father started an advertising agency, and I was restless, I always accompanied him, and I saw the entire creative process and I realized how much he wanted to do. rest of my life, I tell you that I was 14 years old, and I learned to design and create things from scratch, I love how one idea can reach so many people and the whole creative process, I had that advantage that I never work if I don’t have fun with what I do, I don’t consider myself a famous person, I still have a long way to go, I think I have made myself known more for my personality, nobility, and honesty, and I owe that to my parents and my brothers, I am simply the reflection of they. My greatest pride is that I can shine where I am if I put my mind to it, I didn’t know that about myself, now I know, it’s also that even if you don’t know me I will always give 110% to make things happen and I won’t do nothing that harms anyone, I love connecting people at a business level, I love seeing people well and I don’t know why I see the talent that people have and if I look for a way to show it after you get to know me you will understand My specialization is creativity, I am very connected with what people want, and at this moment in my life I have several goals that I am working on, one is to make a summary of news that is shown on social networks, teach entrepreneurs to that they can create their own videos and give them enough tools so that they can maximize their brand or service, and the one that I have dreamed of since I was a child, which is to direct and produce films, I hope I can fulfill this last one.

Are there any books, apps, podcasts, or blogs that help you do your best?
Everything is on my social networks, I am currently working on some online workshops so that entrepreneurs can learn tools and dare to make their own videos and show what they want to offer the world, I am one of those who think that we all have something good to offer.
