Rising Stars: Meet Mary Blake of Dallas-Fort Worth

Today we’d like to introduce you to MARY BLAKE.

Hi MARY, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
Doctorate Loading…Building the Ecosystem of Health
My story began when my father passed away from cancer when I was just five years old. This profound loss sparked a lifelong curiosity about how the immune system fights disease and how medicine can optimize the body’s natural defenses. Every twist in my journey since has led me closer to this core purpose. I believe deeply in the imperative of being a proactive character in your own life to attract personal and professional opportunity. Understanding your passion drives continuous personal development, transforming you into a catalyst that naturally attracts high-level collaborations rather than chasing them. A native of Dallas, Texas, Mary Blake is a multi-faceted healthcare professional, educator, and entrepreneur. She has spent over a decade in the clinical research and healthcare industry, including roles as Senior Clinical Research Associate (CRA) auditing FDA clinical trials, Research Coordinator at Texas Oncology, and Medical Laboratory Technician at Baylor Hospital. However, her most important lessons came from watching patients fall through the cracks of a rigid system, and seeing undervalued healthcare professionals struggle with their own physical, financial, and spiritual well-being. Driven to meet people where they are, Mary’s goal is to pioneer an “Ecosystem of Health”. She co-founded Trvl-Pro to cultivate wellness kits for travelers and is creating a doctor-formulated peptide product with vital, non-clinical patient advocacy. Her holistic approach also inspired her to become a licensed life insurance agent. After a family emergency forced her to withdraw from a traditional 401k leaving her heavily penalized and taxed, she realized that traditional retirement vehicles often fail to provide accessible capital for living life, protecting mortgages, or clearing debt. Today, she uses her license to educate and empower other young professionals to optimize their financial health. To amplify this mission, Mary hosts a monthly Live Well podcast on YouTube and Podbean, interviewing industry experts on lifestyle choices, financial literacy, and preventative care. This platform directly connects physical vitality with financial and spiritual alignment, helping individuals produce meaningful fruit for their communities. Currently, Mary balances her ventures with her role as an Adjunct Professor of Microbiology and her doctoral research at Purdue University, where she is pursuing a Doctorate of Health Sciences specializing in healthcare policy. Upon graduation, Mary plans to expand Trvl-Pro and enter political health as a non-partisan policy advisor and change catalyst, using data-driven clinical metrics to shape biomedical legislation and state health initiatives.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Navigating the heavy grief of losing my father to cancer at age five became the catalyst for my lifetime in healthcare and curiosity about the business of medicine. Yet, spending over a decade auditing clinical trials and teaching microbiology taught me that textbooks don’t show real life of how easily patients fall through systemic cracks, and how imperative it is for you to be a proactive character in your own life if you truly want to attract opportunity both personally and professionally. Driven to meet people where they are, I broke the corporate mold to found Panda Health, blending science-backed peptide products with human advocacy. Balancing doctoral research and civic leadership, I turn obstacles into a mission for accessible wellness.

What was your favorite childhood memory?
My favorite childhood memory is when I performed in my school’s talent show for stand-up comedy and ended up winning first place! At the end of the day, you have to be able to laugh at yourself and not take things too personally because life is funny in the way things work out.

My other favorite childhood memory was my skill in playing soccer. My team went all the way to district playoffs and came out 3rd place out of 12 teams. That was the first place I learned about hard work, dedication, how to take the wins with the losses, and the importance of a team.
