Today we’d like to introduce you to Morgan & Brianna Clynes & Roberts.
Hi Morgan & Brianna, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
Morgan went to TCU and had a dream to be a teacher and live internationally she taught in Fort Worth for a couple of years and knew she needed to go to Europe— a couple years in Spain and few years in Albania and then nomadicly around Europe, UK and South Africa. A career change and a lot of moving she ended up back in Texas to make the mix happen that life needs of stability and adventure!
Brianna studied theater in Toronto and had a dream to live internationally and pursue acting. Life brought her to curaçao, Ghana, Kenya, Albania and Bali. Many careers, currently an international drama teacher in Bali.
Morgan and Brianna met both teaching drama in Albania back in 2019! As lovers of the arts and all things travel, living abroad and creating your dream life wherever you are, they started the global girlfriend podcast, a platform to talk all things travel, life, connection and living abroad. We release weekly episodes on different topics that help women who love travel feel more connected to like minded women, inspire them to take more trips and to embrace every corner of the world. We have regular listeners from over 65 countries.
We started seriously planning in Nov 2024 and released our first episode on Feb 2025 on all streaming platforms. We use the podcast and social media to share all the fun, adventurous and real moments that travel and living abroad bring! We have many things in the works and are excited to keep growing the global girlfriend
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It has over all been a smooth road and has been such a joyful thing to invest our time in for both of us. The conversations we are having, between us hosts and also our podcast guests, are what we feel so passionate about! We are trying to grow the podcast, which has happened slowly and want to keep growing it! This takes time. Bumps in the road have been technology issues and time zones coordinating and making sure we have consistency while we have other jobs, planning big moves, getting married and traveling during it all!
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
We are podcast hosts— we plan, schedule, outline, create topics, coordinate with guests, manage social media platforms, website, communication, record, edit and so on! Brianna and Morgan both have other jobs as they are also trying to grow The Global Girlfriend. We are known for travel and international living mainly geared to women but we host everyone and are always excited for whatever listener or guest we cross paths with! We do topics that are deep like missing out on many of life’s moments with people from home as you are far, to light topics like how to plan for your Euro summer to location specific topics, etc. We have had many guests— friends who inspire us, people who have reached out to us and people who we have reached out to online! All inspiring stories! We have searched for a similar podcast that called to us and could not find it— so we created what we wanted to listen to to fuel our soul and dreams! We are set a part as we speak on our experiences and stories that travel brings and we bring those topics and stories to life on our pod. We want to inspire people to see the world and to pursue your dreams, in Texas, Bali and the whole world! We are two girls who love life and this world and people are drawn to us as they want to pursue their dreams, go on that trip and feeling inspired ! We are authentic, real and have a zest for life that comes through on our podcast and through our content ! It is always something to be proud of when your dream becomes a reality. This podcast has been a dream of ours and to see it in fruition it something we hold closely to our hearts and are immensely proud of!
We’d love to hear about how you think about risk taking?
We are huge believers that you have to get out of your comfort zone, your bubble, to experience real growth and transformation. You can experience this in so many ways from deciding to go out and do something on your own, say hi to someone, give a speech, go on that trip, move to that place that’s calling you! We believe taking big or small risks add up to a fuller, more beautiful and dynamic life. Brianna and Morgan have taken risks on their many moves all over the world. Brianna is preparing to move to Switzerland this next year. They both experience quite a lot of risk when taking trips, especially the ones that are not as comfortable trips— such as Brianna doing a trip to India this last year and Morgan doing a trip to Tanzania to climb Mount Kilimanjaro. Even with The Global Girlfriend, creating this platform is putting yourself out there and taking a risk to build something you are passionate about.
