Rising Stars: Meet Ron of Dallas-Fort Worth

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ron.

Hi Ron, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I have always had a love for storytelling as a teen. From growing up in theater, to going to college acting in improv and learning the skills to be a director, I always tried to hone my skills in telling the best and entertaining stories. After graduating from Texas A&M University – Commerce (Now known as East Texas State University) in 2016, I continued to tell stories in video production work freelancing in Dallas, TX once i returned home. From there I continued to sharpen my skills in the field for the next 10 years doing different work from Production Assistant for HBO & iHeartMedia, Camera operation for ESPN, & Video Production for Dallas ISD & The City of Dallas.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Life has never been easy but God has always given me the strength to overcome. A lot of times i spent unemployed or working warehouse jobs in between trying to make ends meet because I had difficulty finding work in my field. Along with those struggles, I had difficulties with life as I became married then having my first child before losing my father in 2021. It was very difficult as he was the main and sometimes only one I could lean on learning how to grow a family. God has definitely been with me in my grief and has help me to deal with it daily.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I’m a multimedia producer, videographer, editor, and FAA-certified drone pilot. Through Ron Leo Productions, I help businesses, organizations, and creators tell their stories through professional video content that builds awareness, credibility, and connection. Over the past 10+ years, I’ve worked across government, corporate, nonprofit, and entertainment spaces, producing content for the City of Dallas, covering major events like Dream Con in Houston,Tx and Blerdcon in Virginia, and creating videos that have generated millions of organic views online. What I’m most proud of is being able to use my skills to highlight people, businesses, and communities in a meaningful way. What sets me apart is my versatility. I can move seamlessly between corporate productions, community storytelling, live events, and digital content creation while keeping the focus on the story and the impact behind it.

What would you say have been one of the most important lessons you’ve learned?
My faith in God has always been at my core but over the years I’ve learned that true “Trust” in God looks different than just religious belief. I’ve had faith but at times I haven’t truly trusted in him which I try to work on daily. Trusting not only when things go well but trusting he knows my path and what’s best for me even when things go wrong or I don’t see it myself. I know I can only do so much on my own but when I am at my weakest, his power shows up in my life the strongest. 2 Corinthians 12:9-11
