Rising Stars: Meet Seerel Meadows

Today we’d like to introduce you to Seerel Meadows.

Hi Seerel, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
When I first moved to Dallas four years ago, I was astonished by how much this amazing city had to offer. All my life, I’ve always been the first to know about new restaurants, pop-ups, concerts, and events. I’ve prided myself on being the ultimate tour guide of wherever I lived. When I moved to Dallas, I had my work cut out for me! After a few years of pounding the pavement and vetting the brunch scene, I realized this information should not just be shared with my visiting guests, but with all those that love this city or those who just appreciate a drool-worthy picture of a seasonal cocktail. Dallas Discovered was born to share the creativity of this city with those eager to partake but without the time to research. I try it all so I can find the gems and my audience can save their energy and money for the best of the best. Dallas is a fast-moving landscape and there is nothing more frustrating than hearing about an amazing event once it’s over. I make it a point to share content in a timely manner so everyone can enjoy this unbelievable city as much as I do.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Like most Americans, Covid presented a wide variety of challenges to Dallas Discovered. With restaurants and entertainment venues shuttered, content was bleak. But I decided to pivot and focus on how these resilient businesses rose to the challenge and offered food and services within the realm of covid restrictions. Spin Studios renting bikes, to-go margaritas, and even socially distant drive-in concerts. It became a fulfilling challenge to highlight and reward the ingenuity of these industrious Dallas businesses.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
My mission is to bolster the lifestyle sector of Dallas in terms of both patrons and businesses alike. I strive to find unique, exceptional restaurants, events, and entrepreneurs and share their creations with my audience. Throughout my life, I have always enjoyed hosting and creating and now I get to do it on a larger scale. I’ve always loved sharing the latest and greatest experiences with my friends and that’s how I think of my audience – as friends visiting Dallas from another area. I take them along with me to my favorite spots and events. Since its inception, Dallas Discovered has continually been at the forefront of the ever-changing entertainment scene because that is where I’ve always liked to be. Dallas Discovered is authentically me. From restaurants I love, to staycations that saved my sanity, and even my dog-approved pet hot spots, I give my all, and my many Happy Hour recommendations, to my audience.

We all have a different way of looking at and defining success. How do you define success?
The pursuit of success is truly the pursuit of happiness. I’m lucky enough to love the work that I do and I believe that is the greatest success someone can have in their career. I look forward to each day, each bit of content I can share. Happiness also comes in the form of positive feedback from my audience and the businesses I feature. I love hearing from happy customers about their amazing experiences and the fact that I was able to bring pleasure to someone because of something I researched and suggested. Sharing these moments with people, even across social media, is so fulfilling.
