Today we’d like to introduce you to Tapiwa Munyanyi.
Hi Tapiwa, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
My journey started in Dallas, Texas where I watched the Cowboys for the first time in 2023, and I found one of my friends photography pages and thought to buy my own camera and start my journey and since then I have been published in a couple of magazines and have now transitioned into filmmaking.
I am currently based in Halifax, NS, Canada.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Well there have been some opportunities to grow for sure, the most important one is learning good lighting and how to control it.
Also, it was challenging breaking into the wedding market but I’ve had successful weddings in the last 2 seasons.

Currently a professional photographer and filmmaker, I love to create stories and bring them to life visually.
I am most proud of my documentary on Kizomba dance which originates from Angola.
What quality or characteristic do you feel is most important to your success?
Just showing up, being consistent and having the hunger to learn.
I have been learning video editing and I’m having fun with it so far.
