Rising Stars: Meet Trycele Dotson of Dallas-Fort Worth

Today we’d like to introduce you to Trycele Dotson.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I was called into ministry at an early age but I gave my official yes last June of 2025. I started Pretty Warriors In Christ because I saw there was a need to create a space where women can discover their identity in Christ and help them along their healing journey from domestic violence, any kind of abuse and childhood traumas. I too have survived child hood trauma, and have healed from domestic violence through therapy, my relationship with Christ and educating myself on mental health awareness. Since I said yes we have been serving the homeless by feeding them a fresh hot meal and providing hygiene packs for them. I call this “Feeding the Homies”. We do this quarterly or as funding comes in. We also have online Bible study’s and just started in-person events. I do private one on one mentorship’s as well and have been invited to share my testimony as women’s conferences. Everything we offer is free, all of our services and resources. We gladly take donations and use them to assist women in any capacity since every woman’s situation is unique, we also use the funding to provide needs to the homeless communities in Plano and McKinney. There’s no greater joy for me then to help others it has truly become my passion and I do not take what we do here at PWIC lightly.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Starting off it was tough because starting any business you needing funding and direction. Since our organization is faith based it definitely was a testing of our faith alone to get things going. We started off on YouTube and then branched to get involved with our surrounding communities. It was testy but we are definitely growing and partnering with others who share the same interests and values.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I am known to not play about Jesus. I just want to spread the word that it is so important to heal from our traumas and abuse in life no matter how scary it may seem. I know I have a gift at creating a safe space for people in general to share and open up about these tough conversations and allow them the opportunity to choose freedom. I am most proud of the transformation I get to witness through it all.

We’d love to hear about any fond memories you have from when you were growing up?
My favorite childhood memory would be when I was a kid about 7 years old and my grand mother was elected as a superintendent for LISD and she bought me this beautiful dress so I can join her at a local city counsel meeting. I was able to sit in a room with other leaders, activist and people who had a vision and passion to help their community. I just remember telling myself I wanted to be a person who made an impact some way when I got older. Now I get to do that with Pretty Warriors In Christ.
