Today we’d like to introduce you to Corina Grove.
Corina, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
Music and songwriting has always been a passion of mine. It wasn’t until July of 2011 when I started realizing that I wanted to take a serious professional approach to the music scene. I worked here in Dallas with different producers, studios and artist trying to find my niche and figure out what I was getting into. In early 2012 I started working with a band which changed a lot through the 4 years I fronted them — various name change, member change, you get it.
Though the music was always consistent we never released anything. I was never personally happy with the sound. Series of events lead to the band officially breaking up in early 2017. After this, I realized the positive effect of doing what I truly want to do with my music and how I want to convey it to the world. I learned so much about myself and working in the industry in the past 5 years. I now record and produce all my music at home and I’m 100% hands-on with every little thing.
Now I am working on releasing an album early this summer which I’m ecstatic about!
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Haha, what’s journey without struggles? “The world outside is so inconceivable sometimes I barely can speak”. I think to sum up the struggles I can say the biggest is dealing with the music industry as a whole. Especially now getting your music into your listener’s hands.
Everything is digital now and a lot of artist tend to go routes of buying followers, buying streams I sometimes feel its a survival of the fittest and I’ve challenged myself to try and organically build a following by being honest and hoping people will love my music and share it.
Please tell us about Corina Grove Music.
I’m a writer and I convey it through music. It’s a crazy feeling when you can write a song and it can touch someone in a way you’ve never expected it to. Whether it was the way I wrote lyrics or the way I played the instrument. I feel like you send out this energy that people who listen can have this relatable understanding. It like breaking a language barrier. I love reaching to people that way,
If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
Nothing. Every mistake I’ve learned from has benefited me in a huge way and I thank God for that every day.
