Meet Dontez Fant and Dion Driver of The Slow Motion Brand

Today we’d like to introduce you to Dontez Fant and Dion Driver.

Dontez and Dion, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
Well, The Slow Motion Brand started as an idea Dion brought to me. We were both trying to figure out a way to become our own bosses and honestly how to change our circumstances. The concept came from the hare and the tortoise lol. Notice how the rabbit was easily distracted by any and everything during the race because he knew he was faster then the turtle. I notice how the turtle only saw the finish line and nothing but the finish line. We just envisioned that episode from a perspective of our life, being the rabbit catching fast money doing things that could put me far away from the position we’re in right now. Positive upcoming business owners are chasing a dream we built from the ground up! I had to refocus and slow things down and the right things would come to me. This started SLOW MOTION BRAND.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
With anything your passionate about, you have your days when you’re frustrated, ya know? Products may not have come in on time. Packages may be delivered late or lost in the mail, finding a vendor and learning the business itself! We started from scratch literally, lol. Didn’t know the first thing about starting a business, ordering inventory, marketing so that’s probably the biggest thing just learning how to efficiently work your business.

Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about The Slow Motion Brand – what should we know?
We are an urban streetwear brand providing original design and fashion apparel for the urban youth. Slow Motion products represent those who remain persistent in their grind, hustle and dreams no matter their grind state. We’re honestly just trying to leave our own individual mark. I think that our brand has a lot of originality to it. We have original designs that we really sit down and work on. The progress we’ve reached this far is what keeps us humble and proud it’s a great feeling when people love something you put your all into.

Any shoutouts? Who else deserves credit in this story – who has played a meaningful role?
As far as mentors not so much. We have some family and friends that really support the brand. Special thanks to Maya Wiley our secretary and glue that keeps us afloat lol. Marquavis Fant as an entrepreneur and close family and friend he’s definitely been some motivation and supportive.
