Today we’d like to introduce you to Kevin and Roni Townson.
So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
We have been in business for 18 years. Kevin was working for a retailer as director of construction and I owned a small marketing firm. Kevin’s company was sold and so we decided to open our own outsourced construction management firm. In 1999, outsourced project management was a very new concept and it took a lot of work and education to get our firm off of the ground. Within the first 3 months we landed a major retail chain and our company grew from there. We now have offices in Atlanta, Austin and soon New Orleans.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
The largest struggle has been helping our clients to understand and embrace the outsourcing model. The Townson Company does not actually build or act as a contractor. We manage the architects and contractors to make sure our client’s project stay on time and on budget. As pioneers in the field of outsourcing, we’ve got a high level of experience and expertise.

The Townson Company is an outsourced Construction Project Management firm with offices in Dallas, TX, Austin, TX, and Atlanta, GA. We are LEED Green Associates and have been in business since 1999. The Townson Company has successfully managed over 1000 projects with capital expenditures of over $200 million dollars for major national retailers throughout the United States and Canada. We understand the importance of schedules, budgets, communication, and customer satisfaction and that these are critical elements in effective and successful project management. You can turn over an incredible project, but if the time line is not met, you go over budget, and your internal or external customers are not happy, it is not a successful project.
