Today we’d like to introduce you to Ann Taylor.
Ann, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
Determination and grit are two things I learned from my parents. My 13+ years of experience has spanned across relationship management, credit, program management and product at two top financial institutions. I worked diligently towards my career goals and I always had my eye on the next promotion. After nine promotions and continuing to climb the corporate ladder, self-fulfillment was still a missing factor.
While progressing in my career, I saw an opportunity to help others along the way. I was surrounded by a lot of top performers that were unhappy in their jobs but did not know how to make their next career transition. I saw that I could help by creating resumes, conducting mock interviews, developing job search strategies, and outlining salary negotiations. I soon realized the self-fulfillment I was seeking in my next promotion, was in fact helping others elevate in their own careers.
About a year and a half ago, I found myself in a rut with my own career and decided to take a leap of faith to walk in my purpose. I made it my mission to make a larger impact on people’s lives through my Hunting to Hired Career Coaching Program.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
The biggest challenge was learning that I could not be everything to everyone, I thought I was Superwoman. Being a wife, sister, daughter, friend, managing a demanding 9-5, and starting a new business was a lot to take on. My advice to all the women pursuing entrepreneurship is to learn to find a balance, be able to say no, and take care of you first before taking care of everyone else.

I am a Career Coach specializing in helping high-performing millennial professionals who are ready to make a career transition but do not know where to start. So much of the media coverage is focused on the challenges facing women today, but what about the opportunities? Do you feel there are any opportunities that women are particularly well-positioned for?
The women empowerment and equal pay movement is an opportunity for women to have a voice and demand equal pay. Salary used to be a taboo topic and now women are empowered to take talk about salary, take a stand, and ask for what they are worth. I challenge all women to be a part of the solution. Be bold and fearless by not taking no for an answer and not settling for anything less than what they deserve.
