Seth Whalen is strategically expanding PTL’s reputation for high-end event execution by going all-in on Dallas — a market he sees as both underserved and full of opportunity. By embedding himself locally and prioritizing relationship-building, Seth is replicating the hands-on, trust-driven approach that defined PTL’s success in cities like New York and Los Angeles. With a focus on detail, communication, and elite team performance, PTL is not only meeting demand but raising the standard for luxury hospitality in the region. As the company scales across Texas, Seth’s vision is clear: build a dominant, relationship-first brand that becomes synonymous with excellence in every market it enters.
Seth, PTL has deep roots in New York’s luxury event scene. What made Dallas the right market to go “all-in” on at this stage of your growth?
Dallas chose us as much as we chose Dallas. When my family relocated here in 2020, I found a city with a genuine, urgent need for the kind of elevated service PTL has delivered in New York for nearly two decades. The growth here is undeniable: major businesses relocating, a massive influx of new residents, and a social and corporate event scene that is expanding fast. Dallas is absolutely on par with New York in terms of the caliber of clients and brands operating here. What I noticed early on was a real gap in the quality of staffing and service available to meet that demand. That gap is an opportunity, and PTL is built exactly for it. This is also home now. I am not flying in to check on things. I live here, my roots are here, and that changes everything about how we show up.
You didn’t just expand into Dallas — you’ve embedded yourself in the community. How does that local investment change the way you build relationships and deliver services?
It comes down to boots on the ground. The way PTL built its reputation in New York, Los Angeles, and Miami was not by sending emails and hoping for the best. It was by showing up: meeting clients face to face, being present on the floor with our staff, training in person, and becoming a trusted fixture in the industry. We are duplicating that same model here in Dallas, and there is really no shortcut to it. There is a saying I love: you have to be in the scene to be seen. Networking, rubbing elbows, treating every single person you meet with the same kindness and respect regardless of their title or role. That is how relationships are built. That is how trust is earned. And that is the foundation every great event is built on.
PTL operates at the intersection of luxury hospitality and operational precision. What does it take to consistently execute at that level for high-profile clients?
I believe that the details matter enormously, and most people underestimate just how much. A luxury client is not just paying for a service, they are paying for an experience, and every single touchpoint has to reflect that. The other piece is communication. Quick, efficient, and clear communication goes an incredibly long way in this industry. Clients need to know you are responsive, that you are on top of it, and that nothing is falling through the cracks. And then it is about having the right team behind you. Being in the right place at the right time means nothing if the people standing next to you are not ready to deliver. That is what we build at PTL: teams that are prepared, polished, and trusted.
You’ve already worked with major brands in both New York and Dallas. How do the expectations and event culture differ between the two markets?
The brands are similar and the standards we hold ourselves to are the same. What differs is the baseline that the Dallas market has been accustomed to. Because we see such a clear need for our level of service here, a big part of what PTL is doing is simply showing clients what elevated event execution actually looks and feels like. Once they experience the PTL standard, the expectation shifts. That is a good thing for everyone, and it is one of the things that excites us most about being here.
As you scale PTL’s presence across DFW, what’s your long-term vision for the brand in this region and beyond?
The vision is to continue growing all three sides of the business here: catering, staffing, and security. Dallas is the anchor, but Texas is the canvas. We are already looking at Austin and Houston as the next markets to move into with the same intentional, relationship-first approach we have taken in DFW. The goal is not just to be present in these cities, it is to become the go-to name for luxury event execution the same way PTL became that name in New York. We built that reputation one event, one client, one trusted relationship at a time. We are doing it again, and we are just getting started.
