Why Eddie Wiewel Is Rethinking Real Estate by Helping Clients Build Long-Term Wealth Instead of Just Closing Transactions

For Eddie Wiewel, real estate has never been about simply buying and selling properties — it’s about helping clients make smarter long-term decisions across their entire portfolio. By taking a more strategic, relationship-driven approach that blends residential, commercial, and investment expertise, Eddie has built a business centered on solving bigger financial goals and creating lasting value far beyond the transaction itself.

Eddie, your approach goes beyond traditional real estate transactions and focuses on a client’s entire portfolio. What led you to adopt this more advisory-based model?
Starting with a commercial real estate firm and then transitioning to my independent brand (Eddie Wiewel, Realtor) in 2021 provided me with a broader knowledge of different asset classes.

While working with clients, several came to me asking if I’d oversee their entire portfolio– whether it be the house they live in, their business location or an investment property.. their goal was to have one advisor providing strategic guidance over the entire portfolio.

Though some people discouraged this business-model, it was unquestionably the right decision as we’ve overseen 50+ transactions and nearly $15,000,000 in sales volume since launching the brand.

Many agents specialize in a single asset class, while you take a broader view. How does looking at a client’s overall portfolio help you create better long-term outcomes?
I think the main thing is you have a much deeper relationship with each client. It’s not nearly as transactional and you understand their long-term goals– whether it’s their house and how it will appreciate over time or their investment property and calculating returns.

Driving around DFW, I’m able to bridge the gap and educate our clientele on how residential and commercial real estate overlap and complement one another.

I’m able to have an incredible pulse on the DFW Real Estate Market as a whole, while piecing together the different asset classes like a puzzle for our clients

What are some common mistakes investors make when they approach real estate as a series of individual transactions rather than part of a larger financial strategy?
Not getting adequate knowledge on returns at the beginning — both leasing and resale data are the main errors I see daily. You should should always have projections that bring a positive return prior to offering on a property– no matter how good of a deal it might look like.

How do you balance the role of Realtor, advisor, and strategist when helping clients navigate decisions across different types of real estate investments?
Each client will require different goals, knowledge and expectations– it’s my job to ensure I’m always prepared to serve our clientele at the highest level!

Having a daily routine that rivals a professional athlete is what keeps me competitive!

In an increasingly competitive real estate market, what do you believe sets a holistic, relationship-driven approach apart from the more traditional transactional model?
The old adage people want to work with people– while this still holds true, what people truly want is answers to their problems. If I can provide solutions to their real estate goals and challenges based on countless prior experiences, the value is always going to be there!
